Part Six

Selena woke to find herself still on the sofa, the movie she had been watching long since finished. She sat herself up and rubbed her eyes, pausing for a second to locate her phone which was on the arm of the chair. The time being 1:37am. Her attention was drawn to the kitchen as she heard the faucet. She wrapped herself in the blanket and walked into the kitchen, seeing JC.

"Hey" Selena said, followed by a yawn.

"I didn't think anyone would still be up" JC replied to her.

"Well I fell asleep on the sofa with a movie"

"Ahh. Sorry if I woke you. Did you watch anything in particular?"

"It's okay, I can get into bed now. I watched Princess and The Frog" Selena told him laughing a little.

"You know, that's one of Y/n's favorite films" JC informed her, laughing a little himself.

"Really? Never would've guessed"

"Yeah, it's set in New Orleans isn't it and Y/n loved pretty much anything that reminds him of home. Plus, he said that the firefly character..."

"Reymond" Selena said, cutting him off.

"Yeah him, Y/n says that's pretty much how his dad spoke. When we first became friends, there was the odd few times where I didn't understand what he said, and then he'd randomly say half his sentence in French and I was always like, what the fuck?" he told her, making her laugh a little.

"Where is he anyway?"

"He would be with a certain blood sucking manipulative bitch called Cindy" JC told her, the annoyance clear in his voice.

"His ex?" She asked.

"Yeah. If I knew she would be there then I'd have already known this would happen as it's just what they do" he explained, Selena still confused as to why JC would be annoyed.

"It's not like they ended on bad terms is it though..." JC cut her off before she could continue.

"She literally fucked someone else"

"Really? He didn't mention that, he said he just ended things" Selena said, realising why JC was annoyed about it.

"Who likes talking about being cheated on? She claims to have been drunk and that they had had a little falling out but that doesn't excuse cheating, everything he has already had to go through and then that?! But Y/n being Y/n, he forgave her but said he just couldn't be with her anymore but Cindy knows exactly what he wants and how he wants"

"And what's that?"

"To feel wanted, loved and appreciated. Everything he doesn't get from his mom" JC said with a raise of the eyebrows. "Anyway, see you in the morning"

"Yeah, goodnight" she replied. Selena can't help but feel a little sorry for Y/n, having been through everything and then to be cheated and then that same person use your weaknesses and vulnerabilities to manipulate you.

Selena got herself a glass of water and took herself to bed. She's leaving back to LA tomorrow for multiple press obligations for the new movie and meeting with her team for music video ideas.

"Do we need to leave as soon as we get back from church?" Selena was asked by her uncle as she grabbed a towel.

"No not right away, maybe like half an hour after" she told him.

"Alright then. Well we're going now so we'll see you after" he said grabbing his keys. "Could you just text your aunt when Y/n gets back? She worries"
