"What is it you like about this place so much then?" Selena asked Y/n as they reached the diner.

"Well apart from the quiet, it reminds me of home"

"How so?"

"The owner is from New Orleans like me, so there's some of home on the menu" he said to her as he opened the door.

"Oh he's a gentleman. Thank you" Selena said to him with a smile as he held the door and let her go in front of him.

"You're welcome" he replied as he fought with his eyes to not look at her behind, he lost and looked at the amazing object just below her equally amazing hips.

"Do you have a favourite booth?" Selena asked but she heard nothing back from him. "Y/N?"

"Y-yeah?" he said snapping out of his concentration.

"Do you have a favourite booth?" She asked again as she turned to face him.

"Oh yeah. I like to sit in the corner over there" he said pointing to the booth which was conveniently empty. "I'll let you pick which side of the table you want" he added before Selena slid herself into the bench, Y/n then sitting across from her.

Y/n handed her a menu but she pushed it to the side.

"What's your favourite thing to get?" She asked him.

"Well they make really nice gumbo but I tend to get a fried shrimp po'boy. It's amazing, only ones better are the ones that...my mama used to make me" he told her. Selena noticed his tone of voice and the way he looked away after his slight pause.

"I'll have one of those then"

"You sure? Does eating shrimp not make you cry anymore?" Y/n asked her. Selena's eyes went wide and a grin grew on her face before she started laughing.

"Oh my god! You've seen that interview?" she asked through her laughter and he nodded with a grin on his face. "That was definitely one of my more awkward interviews for sure. Don't worry though, there won't be any tears, hopefully" Y/n let out a short laugh, the sound of which made Selena smile.

The pair were joined by a waitress who was probably in her mid thirties. She greeted Y/n like an old friend and asked if he was having his usual, which he is.

While they waited for their drinks, they talked about the game. Selena, although not knowing much about the game of football, complimented Y/n on how he played and that he actually made it fun. She found the smile on his face to be quite nice. Just as their drinks arrived, Y/n brought up the performance she did at the Cowboys-Raiders Thanksgiving game in 2013 and asked her what it was like as he's never actually been to an NFL game before, he's played in the Cowboys stadium twice for his two state championships, but he's never seen a game live.

"It's good right?" Y/n asked as Selena took a bite of her food. She nodded as she finished her chewing, she looked at him and saw the big smile on his face, that same smile everyone has when someone else likes the thing they love.

"So, you mentioned you're from New Orleans" Selena said to him as she dabbed her mouth with a napkin.

"Yep. I was born in Gentilly in our bathtub and we lived in a grey house with a blue door"

"And I take it you're an LSU fan, based on the jersey"

"I am indeed. GO TIGERS!" He shouted, making her laugh. "Both my parents went to LSU on scholarships. It's how they met" he explained to her.

"Really? What did they do?"

"My mama ran track and my daddy played basketball. This is his jersey from his last ever game in where they were conference champs. He would've been drafted but he got injured real bad in that final game and couldn't play no longer. So LSU is a part of me and I would very much like to be a part of it"
