     It was the start of Summer break. Your best friend, Aisha, was planning a huge sleep over with most of the dojo. She also made sure to invite Hawk, knowing you liked him. Hawk and you were a little close, though Aisha and Miguel were your closest friends. You'd catch him eyeing you up during practice quite often, causing him to forget to duck a punch. Yikes. The thought of getting closer to him didn't completely repulse you, you liked it. He was a fun person to be around. Always up to something.
     "What do I do?" You groaned in distress to Miguel, who was on FaceTime with you. He was Hawk's best friend, and he knew everything.
     "Make a move, (Y/n). What's the worst that could happen?"
     "But what if he doesn't see me like that? We aren't even that close-"
     "So?" He asked, getting packed for the night. "Didn't stop him from going out with Moon."
     He made a good point. "Yeah, but he was a horny little dickhead when they were together."
     "Ah... Am I sensing some jealousy?" He had a mischievous smirk on his face. "Do you want him to be your horny little dickhead?"
     "Ew!" You yelled, your face becoming hot. "What's wrong with you?"
    "What's not wrong with me is a shorter list." His comment made you snicker.
     "Hahaha. Funny...Oh, I guess I'm leaving now. I'll see you at Aisha's!" You said your goodbyes and hung up, heading out.
     Aisha greeted you with a warm smile and a hug.
     "Hey girl!" She beamed. You said hello and stepped in. You were the first one there.
     "Hmm.." She peered into the window and saw that no one was pulling in. "Okay, come with me."
     She practically dragged you to her room and you set you stuff down. "So... Are you excited to see Hawk?"
     "I mean I guess, I'm excited to see everyone."
     "Ugh, But especially him? It's obvious you like him, and it's also obvious he likes you too."
     "How?" You asked a little too eagerly.
     "Dude, he looks at you during practice constantly. He dyed his 'hawk after he found out your favorite color-"
     "Huh?!"
     "Yeah, you didn't know?"
     "I just thought he liked the color too..." You were getting nervous, fidgeting with your hands. "Well it doesn't matter, nothing's gonna happen."
     "If you say so... Oh! Is someone here?" She went downstairs, leaving you in her bedroom. It was big, with light colored walls and posters of her favorite bands. You absentmindedly looked in the mirror, playing with your hair and fidgeting with your makeup.
     "(Y/n)!" Aisha yelled from downstairs.
     Without a word, you rushed down to see what she wanted.
     "Oh, Hawk and Miguel are here." She gave you a wink that neither of them noticed.
     "Hey guys." You waved and made an excuse about helping Aisha set everything up. Before leaving, you noticed Hawk's hair in your favorite color...
     "Aisha stop that!" You whisper screamed while setting up the snacks outside.
     She giggled, satisfied with herself. "You should really just make a move already."
     "No. If he liked me, Miguel would say something! They're best friends!"
     "So? That doesn't make me wanna go and tell him."
     "True... Whatever. I'm not doing this right now."
     She smiled to herself and continued.
     Half an hour later, everyone had made it. She invited Bert, Nate, and even Sam and Demitri.
     "Alright guys. I've got something fun planned." Everyone looked at her with anticipation.
     "I've set up two teams of four. We're going to be playing Manhunt!" She cheered, it was her favorite game. "But first, some rules. To cover more ground we're going to be using a buddy system. Each team will split up into two people. Unless you're hiding. Then you're on your own."
     She continued as everyone got excited. "So, team one. The seekers. Nate, Me, (Y/n), and Hawk... Everyone else will be hiding!" Your face heated up as she said Hawk's name.
     She set up the game an hour later, letting the sun set a little bit before letting everyone set off into the woods. Of course you were paired with Hawk.
     "Shhh... Did you hear that?" He whispered. You both had heard a crunch, but couldn't tell what direction it came from.
     "Over here!" You took Hawk's arm and ran with him. You were so intent on finding the noise, you hadn't realized you had touched him. His arm tensed under your grip as you both found Bert crouching in a bush.
     "Bert, get out of there." You lifted him up as he silently brushed him off. "That looked... uncomfortable."
"Very." He headed back to tbe base, a small circle around a bonfire in Aisha's backyard.
"So, uh" Hawk started, giving you an odd look. "We should probably look for the others."
You nodded, starting to walk in the opposite direction in which you came from.
It had been nearly half an hour. Hawk and you had skimmed most of the woods already and still hadn't found anyone. He suggested going back to the base and seeing what was up, and you agreed.
Upon arriving to the base, you discovered that everyone had already been found. They were sitting by the bonfire, making s'mores.
"Nice of you to tell us." You joked. Aisha looked up and grinned.
"I tried calling you, but you never picked up. I just assumed you were busy." Her comment made Miguel snicker and Hawk blush profusely. He glanced over at you, and you made eye contact for a half second.
"Busy finding you assholes." Hawk said, grabbing a marshmallow.
You both sat down and spent the night talking about everything and anything with the rest of the group. Aisha's parents weren't home and she managed to sneak a case or so of beer, so everyone was a little tipsy. It was around 12:30 am and the group was starting to get chilly. She ran out of firewood 20 minutes beforehand, but no one wanted to go back inside. But at this point, the cold was getting unbearable.
     As everyone headed inside, you noticed Hawk shooting you a look from the patio. Everyone had set up blankets and pillows in Aisha's living room to watch a movie.
It was around 2am, the movie had finally finished and everyone was asleep. Bert, Nate and Sam fell asleep halfway into the movie. Miguel and Aisha tried to stay up, but ended up drifting off before the ending. You were the only one up- or at least you thought you were. The movie's main menu screen was getting super annoying, so you turned it off and turned around, facing Hawk.
Your face met his, and you became heated. He looked so serene. Nothing like the boisterous, loud troublemaker you saw all the time. You were just about to turn back around when you felt him put his arm around you.
"No... Stay." He opened his eyes, still half alseep blinking away the exhaustion. His voice was calm. It was the most peaceful tone you've ever heard him speak in.
You stayed silent, unmoving.
"Please... Don't turn around." He lazily sat up a little, moving closer to you in the process. You propped yourself on your arms.
"Are you okay?" You asked, unintentionally studying the weary look on his face.
"No... But I think I will be." He whispered. "I have to tell you something.."
You looked away for a second. Your mind raced as he composed himself. Shit! Does he know I like him? Did Miguel tell him? Did Aisha?!
"I know we aren't close, but" He took a sharp breath in, exhaling slow. "I really like you."
You paused. It was dark, and he had shifted away from the moonlight.
"Forget I said anything. I'm sorry." He started to lay back down, his back facing you.
"I like you too." You said suddenly, unable to control your words after freezing up like that. "I really do. I just... Didn't think you would feel the same way."
He turned around to face you. You could see his face now, and it intimidated you.
"Of course..." He gave you a tired smile, and wrapped his arm around your waist. You shifted towards him and rested your head on his chest, listening to his heart beat as you both fell asleep.
The next morning, everyone had woken up except you two. You sat up and quickly realized last night wasn't a dream... Then you remembered the position you had fell asleep yet.
Aisha was making breakfast as everyone watched your face turn red. "Sleep well?" Miguel smirked. The comment caused Hawk to wake up, who eventually came to the same realization you did.
You were in for a long day.
