This was a request, enjoy!!
—————————————————————————
It was at Moon's summer party. Everyone around you had been getting wasted, and you were a little drunk yourself. It took you a few days to remember what had really happened.
Since then you and Miguel have barely spoken. You didn't know how to feel about what had happened, or why he was so okay with it. He didn't even realize you were upset with him.
At the party, you were downing your second beer when you were looking for Miguel. You looked out the window and saw it. Sam LaRusso was kissing your boyfriend. You watched her inch closer to him and go for it, and his confused expression changed into something you couldn't understand.
You shot him a text that you were leaving, and disappeared before he could find you.
It had been a week and Miguel was still wondering why you were so upset. He even had the gall to ask to take you out on a date. You reluctantly accepted, hoping he'd admit to his mistake.
He must've known by now- he was taking you out your favorite restaurant. It was time to get ready, so you curled your hair, and put it half up/ half down. For your outfit, you wore a nice leather jacket with a white tank top and skinny jeans. Something you did on accident, as it was his favorite outfit on you. And the last thing you wanted to do was impress him.
You were upset, but you were trying your hardest not to be too cruel. So you let him pick you up.
Miguel smiled as you got into the passenger seat.
"Hey. Thanks for picking me up."
"You're welcome...? What's wrong? You've barely talked to me since the party."
You remained silent, letting him figure it out himself.
"Fuck... Oh my God, (Y/n) I'm so sorry. I swear to God it didn't mean anything."
"How am I supposed to believe you? She's your Ex!"
"I didn't even remember it at first! I barely thought of the party since it happened, I passed out right after!"
"Oh that's a smart excuse." You paused for a moment. "Y'know what, maybe this wasn't a good idea- thanks for the invite, but I need to leave." You then got out of the car and slammed the door, but he quickly followed.
You stared him down in your driveway, unable to say anything.
"Please let me explain." He put his head in his hands, refusing to look at you.
"I was tipsy too, Miguel. But I didn't feel like kissing Hawk or-"
"That's because I didn't kiss Sam." He still had his head in his hands. "She kissed me. And no, I didn't like it. It was wrong, and all I could think about was you. I didn't want to tell you that night because I was ashamed." He sighed heavily and looked at you. "I'm not saying you have to believe me... But I'm telling you the truth. I feel nothing for her."
You looked down and stayed silent.
"Please..." He had a desperation in his eyes you've never seen. "I would never betray you like that. I didn't want her to kiss me. She went for it out of nowhere and that's what you saw."
"Don't tell me what I saw. You didn't look upset in the moment."
"I didn't even have time to process it. How much did you see?"
You thought about it before saying, "I only saw you kiss her, then I left."
"So you didn't see when I pushed her away? Or told her to leave me alone? Because after she kissed me that's what I did. You can even ask her if you want. Actually- I blocked her that night so... I don't think that would work out."
"No, I didn't see that... Wait, you blocked Sam?"
"Of course I did. It didn't mean anything to me and she needed to see that. I know you're upset and you have every right to be, but it didn't happen the way you think it did."
You were beginning to see he wasn't joking. He was being sincere, and the look on his face when he was explaining himself had said enough.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner? I've been a jackass-"
"Because I really tried to forget about it after it happened. And I did. It was stupid of me and you have every right to be a jackass. But I never meant to hurt you, (Y/n)."
"It just... Seeing her kiss you like that... It didn't make me jealous, it made me sad." You nervously put your hand on your neck. "And whenever I tried to tell you how I felt, I just remembered seeing that... And I shut down."
"I understand. I shouldn't have let her do it, and I shouldn't have hid it from you. Whether you saw it or not." He hesitated. "...If you don't want to go out tonight, we don't have to. I get it."
You felt bad. Yes, it was wrong. But you assumed something entirely different had happened. The last thing you wanted to do was to ruin his night and punish him.
"No, I don't want to avoid you for this. It's not the end of the world..." You paused. "Maybe we don't have to go out. Come inside. It's cold, and I'm dying for another movie night with you... I should have talked to you about it instead of hiding how I felt... I'm sorry."
Miguel shook his head. "Don't apologize. I wouldn't know how to react either. It's not something you need to be sorry for. It's my fault."
"No... I know you wouldn't purposely hurt me. I shouldn't have assumed you would. We both made a mistake, but it's okay. We can move on."
He nodded and smiled. "Thank you, (Y/n)."
You took his hand and held it for a second, then headed up the driveway and unlocked the door.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked.
"Yes, Miggy. I'm not going to dwell on this forever. I've missed you too much." You gave him a kiss on the cheek and set up a movie.
He sat on the couch and motioned you over. You sat next to him and hesitated at first, but slowly fell back into the same spot you always were when you were with him. Under his arm, head on his chest, with your legs tucked under you. It was almost like a puzzle piece.
"You know I love you." He said, looking down at you.
"I know." Your eyes stayed on the screen. "I love you too."
"(Y/n)." He paused. "Look at me?"
You looked up at him, confused.
"I don't ever want to lose you. I love you, and I don't use those words lightly..."
"I know Miggy. I love you too. It's okay."
You put your arm across his torso and hugged him. He smoothed your hair back, brushing it with his fingers. It was the weirdest thing, you were ready to argue guns blazing... But it broke your heart to see him as distraught as he was outside. It wasn't the type of emotion someone would show if it was intentional.
You two sat in the same position for the entire movie, only moving every so often to put in another one.
