The next thing Maggie knew she was awoken by someone throwing her from a hammock.
"Get to work, runt!" The person growled to her.
"Alright!" Maggie said, then she realized something...
None of her surroundings looked familiar, she was in the gun deck of a ship, where the crew would make their bunks. However Maggie didn't recognize the ship and before she could think anymore of it, someone slapped a mop into her hands and shoved into a line of men, right next her next to her father.
"Daddy, what's going on?" Maggie whispered to him.
"I'm just as confused as you are, Luv" Captain Jack whispered back "I just woke up and now we're here."
"Ain't you the one who threatened me at the pub?" Came a voice.
Maggie turned to see the same sailor from the Captain's Daughter pub standing behind them in line.
"That's me" Maggie nodded "And that's my Daddy."
"There's been a horrible mistake" Captain Jack told him
"Keep moving" he said shoving Maggie and Jack forward.
"We're not supposed to be here" Jack told them.
"Many a-man's woken up at sea, no idea wherefore or why, no memory of the night afore. Whence he's signed up and drank away all his bonus money!" The sailor laughed.
"No, no! You don't understand, mate!" Jack told him "I'm Captain Jack Sparrow! The original! The only!"
"And I'm Maggie Sparrow!" Maggie told him "His daughter! His only daughter!"
"Scrum" the sailor introduced himself "And the pleasures all mine. Now keep moving!"
Maggie and her father, along with Scrum and the rest of the crew, were then put to work as deck hands. They're first task was to mop the gun deck.
Maggie stayed close to her father and tried to keep her head down as the crewmen who were ordering everyone around seemed mean and short-tempered. Even the way they glared at everyone made a shiver run down Maggie's spine.
As Maggie and Jack mopped the deck, they couldn't help, but notice a nearby crew member assembling what looked like a see-through casket.
"Scrum!" Captain Jack whispered "Why is there a glass coffin?"
Scrum shrugged "Do I look like the man in charge?"
"Where are we?" Jack asked him.
"Excuse me, Captain Sparrow and Miss Maggie" Scrum said "I be right honored to welcome you both aboard our world-renowned vessel of infamy... the Queen Anne's Revenge."
Maggie's eyes widened "The Queen Anne's Revenge? As in the ship captained by..."
"Blackbeard" Captain Jack finished.
☠💀☠
Maggie and her father were soon brought up to the main deck of the sinister ship, where they were forced to scrub the deck on their hands and knees.
Maggie normally would've protested against being forced into something like this, but after seeing how brutal-looking their commanding officer's were, she thought better of it.
Usually pirates weren't exactly the prettiest of people --or the sweetest smelling-- but these guys weren't just ugly, they were creepy ugly! Some had one eye sewn shut, shapely scars on their faces and foreheads and some had fish hooks right through their lips!
