The next day the crew of the Queen Anne's Revenge made their way up the rocky shoreline. At least, that's where Maggie thought she currently was, for whatever reason Maggie and Captain Jack were both blindfolded before they left the ship. They were currently being guided by Angelica and Diego along with the rest of the crew, plus the mermaid who was now being transported in the glass coffin which was turned into a mobile aquarium.

Blackbeard stopped at the edge of the jungle and pulled off Jack and Maggie's blindfolds.

"It's up to you now, Sparrow" he told Captain Jack.

"Was that really necessary?" Jack asked, looking down at the blindfold.

"Best you not know the exact whereabouts of my ship" Blackbeard told him. "I be a cautious man."

"So be I" Jack agreed, pulling out his compass and opening it. "And what I want first... is Ponce De Leon's ship."

☠💀☠

For the rest of the morning the crew of the Queen Anne's Revenge was marched through the jungles of the island, lead by Captain Jack and his compass. After scaling the rocky cove and the surrounding jungle, they found themselves wading through the murky waters of the jungles river, with vines hanging around them from above.

Maggie and Diego held onto their parents belts and doggie-paddled to keep their heads from going under. The river was a lot deeper than it seemed.

Scrum struggled to keep the mermaid aquarium from getting caught under a fallen tree.

"Why is it we got to bring her along?" He asked Angelica.

"Because tears don't keep. We need them fresh" Angelica answered.

"Now what is the ritual again?" Jack asked her. "Water from the Fountain and a mermaid's tear?"

"And two silver chalice's" Angelica reminded him. "One cup with the tear, one without."

"One with a tear and there's water in both, right?" Maggie questioned.

"Both get water, one gets a tear" Diego stated, annoyed. "The person who drinks the water with the tear gets all the years of life from the other person."

"How many years?" Jack inquired.

"Ahh! Snake!" Maggie jumped behind her Father, noticing a large snake slithering by.

Angelica snatched the serpent from the waters surface and hung it around her shoulders, before brandishing it at Jack.

"All the years that they have lived" she answered "And could've lived if fate had been kinder!"

As Angelica tossed the snake aside, Maggie couldn't help but notice how she reminded her of someone she had met before. A certain voodoo priestess/sea goddess...

"So..." Maggie said to Diego "Run it by me again, slowly. You need two chalice's..."

Diego groaned and started muttering swear words in Spanish under his breath.

Maggie giggled, she and her father knew the ritual already. But teasing people while hiking through an uncharted jungle was fun!

Around noon, Blackbeard let the crew stop at a nearby riverbank to refill their canteens and rest... Finally!

Captain Jack and Maggie approached Phillip the Missionary.

"Clergyman" Jack whispered to him. "On the off chance that this does not go well for me, I'd like it stated here and there that I am fully prepared to believe in whatever I must, so that I may get to that place where all the goody-goodie's get to go, savvy?"
