Klaus's pov
If Damon is speaking the truth, I must act quickly to create my hybrids; time is of the essence if I am to stand a chance against Mikael. Fortunately, I have a powerful witch by my side, who gives me hope in this dire situation.
As I reflect on Hope, the memory of her embrace rushes back to me. It's hard to believe that I, Klaus Mikaelson, could be so deeply touched by a hug. What's even stranger is how much I cherished that moment—it was a feeling I realized I desperately needed.
There's an overwhelming instinct to protect her, a fierce longing I haven't experienced since my bond with Marcel. It stirs something within me, reminding me of my capacity for care and connection.
I take solace in knowing that I left Rebekah with her. My sister has always had a special affection for Hope, and I trust that she will keep her safe, watching over her with the same fierce loyalty that runs in our blood.
Now, all that remains is for me to harness my power, create my hybrids, and prepare to confront Mikael once and for all. Time is ticking, and my resolve is stronger than ever.
Hope's pov
Dad left Mystic Falls to create his hybrids, but before he went, he got me a house. It's nice, but it feels empty without him. Bex has been dragging me to school, which I dread, but I go for her sake. I want to be there for her, even as I feel a growing unease. With Katherine back in town and the concerned looks from the Scooby gang, I can't shake the feeling that something terrible is looming over us.
I was just about to sit down for dinner when Bex called, her voice breaking through tears. I froze; I had never heard her cry like this—not even when Dad died. I rushed over to the Salvatore Boarding House, my heart racing with fear. When I arrived, I found her in a corner, tears streaming down her face. I enveloped her in a hug, desperate to comfort her, but she just kept crying, her sobs echoing in the silence.
"Now, Bex, tell me what happened. Why are you crying like this?" I urged, my own heart aching.
"He killed her hope. Klaus killed our mother!" she exclaimed, the anguish in her voice cutting deeper than any knife."Oh, Bekah..." I felt my own pain resurface, memories of losing Mom flooding back. I wished I could take away her hurt, but I felt so helpless.
"Everything is going to be fine, don't worry, Bekah. Okay?" I said softly, trying to sound reassuring even though I didn't believe my own words.
"For now, let's just spend the night talking," I suggested, hoping to distract her from the pain.
And talk she did.
She shared stories of their childhood, the laughter, and the love they had for each other. I listened as she recounted how they became vampires and the struggles they faced through the centuries, but the heavy silence that hung in the air reminded me of what they had lost. Eventually, her voice faded, and I drifted off to sleep, the weight of her sorrow pressing down on me.
"WAKE UP!" Bex shouted, jolting me from my uneasy dreams, and I jumped out of bed, startled.
"What do you want?" I mumbled, still trapped in my groggy state.
"Come on, wake up—we need to be somewhere," she said, urgency lacing her tone.
"Alright, wait up," I replied, pulling myself together.
"Whoa, you look nice!" she complimented me, a bittersweet light in her eyes.
"Thanks, love!" I replied, trying to keep the mood light even as sadness shrouded our hearts.
"No, really, this top goes with your eyes," she said, her gaze lingering on me with an intensity that felt both comforting and heavy.
"What?" I asked, eyebrows raised.
"No, it's just your eyes—they're beautiful, but I feel like I've seen them somewhere," she mused, uncertainty creeping into her voice.
"Probably one of my ancestors?" I joked, but the nervousness grew as I caught her look.
"No, like I have seen them so many times before. Did you get them from your mother?" she inquired.
"No, my father," I said, feeling a knot tighten in my stomach, hoping she wouldn't connect the dots.
"They really are nice," she said, a hint of sadness in her voice.
"You know, he used to say that I had a hint of the devil in my eyes," I reminisced, but the warmth of the memory felt cold now, distant and out of reach.
"Well, enough about your eyes—we should leave," she suggested, the urgency returning as the shadow of our loss loomed over us.
"Where are we going?" I asked, trying to shake off the gloom.
"To meet the Scooby gang who called me to come immediately," she said, a sense of dread filling the space between us.
"Let's see what they have for us," I replied, feeling the heaviness of uncertainty echoing in my heart. What awaited us beyond those doors? Whatever it was, I knew it wouldn't fill the void we both carried inside.
