Dave stood at the door and waved as Jordyn's car pulled out of the lot. His head was swimming as he flicked his cigarette into the bin. Their relationship had certainly improved over the last few months, but he was not expecting her to be so reasonable and even... friendly.

He had spent weeks fearing Jordyn's reaction had she found out about Ava, and for good reason, she hadn't been the most level headed during their marriage... often flying off the handle if he was touring or recording with females. Occasionally though, it was justified.

He raked his hands through his hair, pulling it back from his face as he came to the obvious conclusion that Jordyn must be seeing someone too, and she was over him. The bolt of jealously that shot through his veins surprised him and he shoved open the door to go and find Ava.

He heard her laugh before he saw her and instantly felt the cloud in his mind clear a little. She relaxed him just by being near him, and he needed that in his hectic life. He couldn't get in his head about Jordyn's motives, whatever they may be.

Ava looked sheepish when he walked in like she was waiting to be told off for getting him into trouble with his ex-wife. Taylor was perched on the edge of the old couch that his mom had decorated with cushions made out of his old band T's, and he looked equally as nervous.

"I am so sorry, I tried to-" Ava started, but he waved a hand to stop her apology. He was the one who had brought her here, so even if her being here had caused any issues, she shouldn't be the one apologizing.

"It's fine," he said, "Jordyn was fine with it. She knows that we are together now, it's fine. Everything is fine."

"You're saying fine a lot," Ava grumbled, "You sound like Ross in that episode of Friends where he makes the Margaritas."

He laughed at that, but quickly turned to Taylor and asked him to check some sort of scheduling issue in the office.

"What's the problem, boss?" Taylor asked, wiggling the mouse on the desk to wake the computer in front of them.

"That went too well," he groaned.

"Oh so... no scheduling issue?" Taylor asked, his eyebrow raised.

"No shit, Hawkins," he grumbled.

"What happened?"

Dave relayed the conversation between him and Jordyn, trying not to let the incessant shaking of Taylor's legs distract him from his train of thought.

"What's the problem? Sounds like she is ready for you to move on, that's what you wanted, isn't it?" asked Taylor.

"I mean... Yeah, obviously. But that was not the reaction I was expecting. Remember the blow up when I told her I wanted to have all-female performers singing for the Nirvana Hall of Fame show? Fuck."

"Disco, you were married then. It's different, maybe she is ready to move on too, hell maybe she already has," Taylor said with a shrug.

The clenched fist that twitched at Dave's side told Taylor all he needed to know.

"Aaah, I get it. You're jealous. You figured J has moved on, and you're jealous," Taylor said.

"I'm not fucking jealous man, I'm just... I'm..." Dave trailed off, struggling to find the right words, "I'm worried that she's got some ulterior motive."

Taylor threw his head back in a bitter laugh, "God you're paranoid in your old age. You know as well as I do that Jordyn isn't vindictive like that. Just take the victory man, you've been pissing your pants over her finding out, and now she knows, and it's all cool. Take the fucking victory."
