MIA'S POV

Dear Dr Banner,

You probably don't remember me but my name is Mia Ross we met very briefly in Kolkata. Any way I am writing this email to you as I have just moved to New York, I know back in India you declined all my offers for coffee but I was hoping you might have changed your mind. No pressure of course but I've been trying to find a decent cup of coffee since I landed and have had no luck.

Yours Sincerely

That little annoyance,

Mia.

I fiddled with the hem of my shirt deciding whether or not to send the email. Bruce had always rejected me when I had offered to buy him coffee as I saw him go house to house helping people who didn't have the money for a real doctor. I suppose he could tell I was very chatty and didn't want to deal with an annoying teenager. Maybe now would be different I have changed a lot since my time in India although he won't know that.

I bite down in my bottom lip and quickly hit send. I close my laptop immediately, not wanting to sit here staring at the screen waiting for a reply. Instead I decide to grab my boots and my bag and head out into busy New York.

I had only been in New York for a week and I hadn't had a proper chance to explore yet, the first few days I spent resting and getting some essential things for my apartment. I hadn't brought a lot over from England manly because I didn't have a lot but also partly because when I start fresh I like to go all the way.

The last few days I had spent job searching and going to some interviews although I didn't need the money ,thanks to the fact I sold an app I had created for a very large amount of money, I liked the idea of having a part time job mainly so i'd make friends faster.

Lucky for me this Saturday was a beautiful day to walk around and get lost. I ducked into the first coffee shop I found hoping this place would have a decent cup of coffee. Considering it was a warm day I ordered an ice coffee with and extra shot praying this would give me a boost in energy I so desperately needed.

The coffee shop was very quiet considering it was 11 am on a Saturday, I looked around the small coffee shop and smiled enjoying the very simple rustic decorations. I leaned against the counter trying to get the attention of the very attractive barista.

'Hi erm... excuse me?' I smiled sweetly at the girl making my drink.

'Yes can I help you? your coffee will be just a moment.' she said rather politely.

I smiled ' I was just wondering do you have a lot of customers or is it always this quiet in here, don't get me wrong I love it its great, I just moved here you see and I'm on a hunt to find the best coffee. Most of the coffee I've tried sucks..." I cut myself off when I realised I started to ramble and the once polite girl started to look a little annoyed.

'We make great business here. There's your coffee.' She says bluntly will shoving the coffee at me.

'I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend...' but she had already gone to make another drink.

I let out a sigh, with my luck she's probably the owner of the shop and I just offended her by pointing out the lack of customers she had. What an idiot I can be when I see a pretty face, sometimes I just wish I could write down everything before I say it to save me some embarrassment.

I take one more look at the very pissed off barista before I hear a snigger behind me and slowly start to turn around to see a silver haired man trying to hide the fact he thought the interaction I had was hilarious.

My eyes go wide and I quickly leave the coffee shop, not stopping until I am a safe distance away. Well I guess I won't be going to Mel's coffee shop again any time soon. I sigh taking a big drink of my coffee. Damn it, the coffee is really good.
