Just a little mistake

STEVE'S POV 

I had decided I would cook breakfast for everyone considering most of them will be very hungover this morning.  Me being one of the lucky ones who doesn't get hangovers or drunk for that matter, I mean that sucks a bit but I've learnt to live with it. So after my run I quickly shower and head down to start making pancakes and waffles for everyone. I enjoying cooking although I aren't the best so I just stick to the few things I know how to do, I just finish the first batch when Wanda and Vision come into the kitchen.

'Good morning guys how are you feeling this morning?' I ask as Wanda starts making a pot of coffee I smile at the sweet smell already entering the room.

'A little rough but not too bad I was lucky me and Vis decided to call it a night early on, although I can't say the same for the others.' Wanda chuckles while grabbing some mugs from the top shelf.

'Yeah I understand I didn't stay much longer after Sharon left.' I say as I flip the pancakes adding a few chocolate chips to these ones.

'How is Miss Carter I gave her my condolences awful thing to go through.' Vision says taking the coffee Wanda is offering him before he puts it back down again. I smile as I notice how we all forget sometimes that Vision doesn't eat or drink but he never turns away the things we offer I suppose he doesn't want to offend or upset anyone..

'Condolences for what?' Wanda asks looking between us waiting for an explanation.

'One of Sharons close friends passed away a few days ago unexpectedly she has been struggling a bit, so I had promised to cheer her up if she came to the party last night.' I explain briefly not wanting to go into too much information about someone else's private life. Although I was glad she could confide in me about her friend I understand how painful it is to lose your best friend unexpectedly, I think about Bucky the most.

'So you were just being a friend to her last night.' Wanda asks with a confused face handing me a coffee.

'Thanks, and yes why did you think something else was going on?' I ask as I plate up the last of the food.

'I wasn't sure put you did spend most of the night with her so it seemed possible.' Wanda says placing a waffle on her plate smiling slightly. 

'Oh god no I mean Sharon is lovely and all but I don't have any feelings for her, wait do you think...' I trail off before finishing the sentence looking at Vision and Wanda. 'Never mind.'

 'I don't want to stick my nose in but if you're thinking what I think you are then yes that's how it looked to her.' Wanda says while taking her plate and following Vision to sit down.

As others begin to wake up and come to the kitchen I take some food for myself and sit down not really paying much attention to the conversations going on. The only thing that is on my mind at the moment is the worry that Mia thinks something is going on between Sharon and I. I start to think back over the party last night trying to remember everything that happen from being in the elevator with her, I then remember talking with Tony until Sharon arrived I had immediately gone over to welcome her as I was the one to convince her to come. I had only spoke to her for a short time before Sam had dragged me away to be his wing man that's when I had promised I'd return for a dance. But the best part of my night was definitely my alone time with Mia on the roof, as I start thinking about the conversation I smile I was so close to just grabbing her and kissing her before we were interrupted. Oh my god how stupid of me, we were having a moment, well I think we were and I ruined it I just left her for another woman. Although I had only left because when I had walked over to Sharon it looked as if she had been crying and I didn't want my friend to be sad. Damn it, but Mia wouldn't have known that for all she knows I turned my back on her for no good reason. I need to fix this I have to find her and explain what happened, I stand up grabbing my plate of half eaten food and stand up.
