A Backstage Pass

I still couldn't believe it as I got dressed for the show tonight. Ace Frehley had asked me to meet him backstage! And he had bought me his solo album and signed it for me! Still shocked, I looked at my outfit in the mirror. It was still the same outfit I had worn to the record shop, with my sweater and skirt. I thought for a moment about changing before letting out a sigh. Oh, there was no way I could wear any tight leather outfits or anything. I was much too shy and besides, I wasn't even close to being beautiful enough for that. If I was beautiful, then I would certainly have ended up with a boyfriend by now.

Shaking my head, I grabbed my backpack purse, slinging it over my shoulder and making certain I had the backstage pass he had given me. Heart all aflutter, I ran for the bus stop. In just an hour or so the show would be starting, and after that I would be meeting up with Ace again backstage.

I arrived at the venue and stepped off the bus after a long ride, taking a deep breath. Just half an hour until the show. Just a few hours until I saw Ace again! I walked up to the doors, giving the ticket agent a nervous smile.

"Hello, I have...I have this backstage pass," I said nervously, showing it to him.

"Do you have a ticket as well?" he asked.

My heart dropped, hands starting to shake.

"Oh, I...I don't think that I do. Um, would there have been--did anyone leave a ticket? For Y/N?" I asked nervously.

To my immense relief, he nodded. "Mr. Frehley left a ticket for you, actually. Along with a note," he said.

He handed an envelope to me, waving me ahead with a thin smile. Hands still shaking, I opened the envelope, pulling out the ticket to show the usher and grabbing the scribbled note too.

Dear Y/N,

Sorry curly, I completely forgot to give you a ticket! Hopefully this one finds you! Looking forward to seeing you after the show!

All the best,
Your Ace

Smiling, I showed my ticket to the usher, getting escorted to the very front row. Any minute now, the show would start and I would get to see Ace perform for the first time! I had never managed to get my hand on a Kiss ticket before. They always sold out in an instant, and I was never really able to afford good seats anyway. All that was about to change though, because the familiar voice boomed out across the arena.

"ALLL RIGHT NEW YORK! YOU WANTED THE BEST, YOU GOT THE BEST! THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD! KISS!"

The curtain dropped and Kiss took the stage with a burst of fire and flame. Ace walked over to the edge of the stage I was on, giving me a smile and a wink. I nearly swooned, waving at him as I returned his smile happily.

The show was amazing! Ace was an absolute magician on the guitar, performing the most wonderful solos. The entire time though, I was torn between waiting eagerly for the show to end so I could go backstage and meet him, and wanting the show to last forever. But at last, Kiss took their final bows, the curtain dropping. I took a deep breath, feeling my heart start to race. Shaking my head, I rose to my feet, walking toward the backstage door. The roadie raised an eyebrow as I walked up to him.

"And you are?" he asked.

Wordlessly, I showed him the pass Ace had given me. He waved me through, and I walked down the hall. I could hear voices chattering as I neared the dressing room. I took a deep breath, rounding the corner, and immediately smacked into Ace.

"Oh! I'm sorry!" I said, taking a step back as my face turned red.

His face lit up and he gave me a smile. "Y/N! Oh it's so good to see you again!" he said.

"It's-it's really good to see you too," I mumbled, all of a sudden feeling shy and flustered around him.

"Here, let me give you a backstage tour! I can introduce you to the rest of them!" he said eagerly.

Ace took my hand, giving it a squeeze, and I very happily left my hand in his as he lead me further backstage toward the dressing room. I tried not to show just how nervous I was, not only to meet the others, but to spend time with him! Ace had always been my favorite member and I must admit I had a crush on him, even though I knew he was oh so far out of my league. Besides, no man had ever been interested in me, so there was no way he would be the first!
