Ace led me down the hall, smiling as much as I was.
"Here, I'll take you into the dressing room and you can meet the others! Except maybe Gene, I think he's already run off with a girl. He does that a lot," Ace said with a grin, pushing open the curtain.
Paul and Peter both looked up from getting changed, exchanging confused glances.
"Ace! We're not supposed to let press see us when we're taking off the makeup!" Paul snapped.
I felt my face go red as Ace rolled his eyes, keeping his hand in mine.
"She's not press! I invited her to the show and I wanted to give her a tour! I met her this afternoon, we really hit it off," he said, giving me a warm smile.
"Nice to meet you," Peter said, tucking his drumsticks into his boot and holding out his hand.
I shook it, returning his smile nervously. "Nice to meet you too. I'm Y/N," I said.
Paul elbowed Peter out of the way, picking up my hand and kissing it. "It's very nice to meet you," he purred, and I giggled in spite of myself.
"It's nice to meet you too!"
Rolling his eyes even harder, Ace smacked Paul's hand away.
"Hey! Stop flirting with my guest, curly!" he snapped in a teasing voice, before slipping an arm around my shoulders. "Do you want me to give you a tour of the rest of backstage?"
I nodded eagerly, giving him a smile. "Oh, yes please! I would love that!"
He smiled back, kissing me on the forehead again. We said farewell to Peter and Paul as Ace led me out of the dressing room. He took me on a tour of backstage, pointing out everything and introducing me to any sound tech we came across. He kept his arm either around my shoulders or kept his hand in mine, and although I was happy I knew it was only because he was friendly. I was much too shy and plain to be his type of girl.
Eventually we had wound our way back to the dressing room. "Well I had a lot of fun tonight!" I said. "But I guess I better be heading home," I finished sadly.
He gave me a confused look. "Oh, Y/N I was actually going to-to ask you if you wanted to go and grab dinner! I'm starving and I've kept you here for hours so I'd imagine you must be hungry too!"
I opened my mouth to protest but my stomach growled, cutting me off. He giggled, giving my hand a squeeze.
"I guess that's a yes. Only if you want to of course!" he added hastily.
"Of course I want to!" I cried, and he smiled.
"Then let me go get into something less conspicuous," he said with his same wonderful wild laugh, heading into the dressing room.
I waited outside, too shy to watch him get changed. After a few minutes, he stepped back into the hallway. I bit back a gasp in spite of myself. His soft brown hair hung in waves to his shoulders and a warm pink blush had spread across his cheeks. His soft lips curved into a fond smile, wrinkling his lovely brown eyes adorably. I was completely smitten!
"At least it'll be easier to have a conversation! You won't have to look up so far now that I'm 6 inches shorter," he said with a grin, holding out his arm.
I took it, giggling, and let him escort me to his car.
Dinner was absolutely fantastic. We just ended up going somewhere cheap nearby, more focused on getting food fast than we were on getting fancy food. The hours passed in no time at all, with both of us locked in a happy conversation. It felt like I had known him for ages and that I was able to talk about anything at all with him. At last though, I couldn't stop yawning, so he paid the bill and led me outside the restaurant, looking at his watch.
"Oh gosh Y/N I'm so sorry, I completely lost track of time! Oh damn it's 1 am, I'm sorry! All the buses have stopped running for the next few hours!" Ace said.
I frowned, running a hand through my hair. "Oh, it's okay! I was having fun, we both lost track of time. It's okay, don't feel bad! I'll just find a cab or something," I said reassuringly.
He shook his head, putting a hand on my face, gently running a thumb along my cheek.
"I don't trust you alone in a taxi, not a beautiful woman like you this late at night," he murmured, giving me a slightly worried look.
"Ace you don't need to worry! I'll be able to take care of myself!" I said, but he just shook his head again.
"Why don't you just stay in my room for the night? You can have the bed and I'll sleep on the couch! It's a suite so you'll be in a completely separate room! I'd never do anything like that but you know, whatever it takes to make you comfortable. And I know you don't really have anything to sleep in but I've got a spare t-shirt and shorts that you can borrow!" he said, giving me a smile.
I felt my heart melt and returned his smile.
"That sounds like it'll work. Are you certain you don't just want me to take a cab?" I asked.
He nodded, hesitating for a moment before kissing me on the forehead.
"I'm certain," he murmured.
I nearly melted on the spot as he took my hand, giving it a gentle squeeze and leading me to his car.
