You walked up the stone stairs of the new volleyball court, you were so excited to start high school and forget all about middle school.

"Y/N!" A familiar voice yelled from behind you. You spun around to see your best friend Kageyama standing behind you.

"Oh, hey Kags!" Your replied but his slight smile turned into an angry frown.

"Idiot! You know I hate it when you call me that!" You giggled because you loved teasing him.

"Well, you better get used to it then." You grabbed Kageyama's wrist and ran into the court. He sighed and followed you in.

You had been living with Kageyama since you were in your second year of middle school. Your parents died in a tragic car accident and Kageyama's parents were their best friends. You guys grew up together and they trusted them with you.

You two walked into the court and everyone's head spun around and looked at the both of you. You saw a small looking boy with orange hair looking at Kageyama with a terrified look on his face. You turn to Kageyama to see him glaring back at the boy.

The orange-haired boy walks up to Kageyama and you started to feel nervous, he looked familiar but you didn't know why.

"Why are you here?!" Kageyama asked in a stern voice. You don't usually hear him talk like this except when he talks about Oikawa. You hate it when he gets upset.

"This is where the "Tiny Giant" went, so I'm going here too." The boy said. You had heard of the Tiny Giant, but I didn't know much about him.

"And what makes you think you will ever be as good as the Tiny Giant ShOpO?!" Kageyama rebutted. You were so curious about what these two had against each other but you knew that now was not the time to ask.

"It's Shoyo, Hinata Shoyo, and I know I'll be as good as him one day, or even better. Just wait and see Kageyama!" Everyone went silent, and Kageyama had a surprised look on his face. Kageyama scoffed and walked away to the locker room, you followed him in.

"Kags? Who's that?" you asked him once the door was closed and it was just you two.

"He was someone that I played against in middle school. We beat him but he promised me he would beat me one day." He still sounded stern and you hated it.

"You know you're better than him anyway, don't let it get to you." You smiled at him trying to cheer him up.

"Thanks, Y/n." He looked up at you with a slight smile on his face and he was blushing. You didn't say anything else, just smiled and turned to walked out onto the court.

You knew Kageyama was going to be on the team so over the summer you signed up to be co-manager alongside Kiyoko and got the "job".

You went to meet up with Kiyoko so that she could give you the instruction for the day, but then a cold hand grabbed your wrist and pulled you back before you could walk out of the locker room.

"Wha-" you were cut off by Kageyama.

"Wait for me, I'm not ready for practice yet." You felt yourself blushing and tried to look away.

"Ok ok, I'll wait" You laughed and waited for him to finish getting ready for practice.

You both walked out of the locker room about 5 minutes later and you were still slightly blushing.

A grey-haired boy walked up to you with a grin, "You must be Y/n! Nice to meet you I'm Sugawara, but you can call me Suga like everyone else!" His voice was so soft and kind.

"Oh yes that's me, It's very nice to meet you Suga!" You smiled at him and then excused yourself to go find Kiyoko. You see her sitting on a bench next to the court.

"Oh hey, Y/n." She said as she saw you approaching her. You too had met a few times over the summer to talk about your position as manager.

"Hey Kiyoko, I know it's only the first day but is there anything I could help you with?"

"No, nothing at the moment. Just go get familiar with everyone on the team."

"Ok sounds good. Byeee." You saw two boys on the other side of the court sitting on the floor stretching.

"Hi, I'm Y/n, the new co-manager!" You said with a peppy attitude. You've never had a problem making friends and have always been quite eccentric.

"OH HEY! I'M NISHINOYA!" Nishanoya was short but he was slightly taller than you.

"AND I'M TANAKA NICE TO MEET YOU!!" Tanaka was taller and had a buzz cut, if it wasn't for his bubbly introduction, he would be intimidating.

"Nice to meet you Nishanoya and Tanaka!" You say while laughing. They stood with the biggest grins on their face while you walked away to go meet some of the other teammates.

You see a tall man with stubble and long brown hair standing next to the team captain Daichi, who you also met while applying to be the manager.

"Oh hello, you must be the coach!" Daichi burst out laughing and the tall man started to turn red.

"Oh uh n-no. . . I'm actually the ace." He said completely embarrassed.

"Oh I'm sorry, you just look so much older." You replied trying to laugh it off.

"I-It's ok"

"Hello, Y/n," Daichi said still laughing.

"Hello, Daichi. Is this the entire team?" You asked still red with embarrassment.

"No, two more first-years should be here any minute."

As almost if on cue the doors open and two boys walked into the gym. One was tall with glasses, the other was short with small freckles.

After they put their stuff down you walked up to introduce yourself.

"Hey, I'm Y/n. Are you guys first years?" you couldn't help but look up at the tall one, you guessed he was around 6'2. you could already sense he was going to be a great help to the team. He then just walked away ignoring you completely.

"Yes, we're the new first years, A sorry about Tsukishima, he's not really a people person." he started to laugh quietly.

"Yeah, I see that." You agreed, laughing along.

"Oh and I'm Yamaguchi!"

"Nice to meet you, Yamaguchi. I feel like this is going to be a really good year for us!"

"Agreed!!"

You then both look over to see an older man with blond hair held back by a headband.

"Alright team, to the court!!" He yelled calling everyone to the court.
