The past few days flew too fast for Hadrian’s linking. It had just been the two of them relaxing by the sea, playing games and doing just about anything they could. “Hadrian! Time to get up!” He heard his father shout. Snapping his eyes open, Hadrian broke out in a large smile. Today was his eleventh birthday.
Hopping out of bed, he immediately got ready for the day. In his favorite green shirt and shorts, Hadrian stepped out of his room, greeted by a full plate of his favorite breakfast. All done by his dad. “Well, if it isn’t the birthday boy,” his father, Marche, said with a huge smile on his face.
“Good morning dad.”
“Good morning to you son.”
“Thank you for breakfast,” Hadrian said while stuffing his mouth with warm fluffy pancakes.
“Of course only the best for your birthday.”
Later where their plates were empty and stomachs fed; the two found themselves on the deck looking out to the morning sea. “Hadrian?”
“Mm,” he responded giving his father his attention.
“Have you ever thought of wanting to find out about your birth parents?”
“Um” Hadrian was stumped, “well I did just to satisfy my questions I have, but its not really important now that I have you.” He said looking at his dad, “you are the best anyone could ever ask for, and I love you.”
His father smiled at his son, ”and I love you, you're the best son anyone could ask for.”
“What's all this about dad?”
He watched as his father pulled out a folder, he could tell it was filled with paper. “Well the past couple of years I was looking; because I know if I could have found out about my parents I would have. No matter if the previous Provost found me or not.” His father passed his folder with nervousness. “Go ahead, open it.”
Slowly out of shock Hadrian opened the folder, which greeted him was a newspaper clipping. It was a wizarding paper with the moving picture of a family. The Potter family welcomes home twins. Was the gleaming heading of the article. Scanning it there was a brief description of each baby and the eldest on was a matching description of his black and emerald eyes. Flipping over to the next, was another article. First born shows magic in five months! It had a photo with a smiling baby and a floating stuff animal. Followed by that was Potter heir now heir to Black family through his godfather. The next one had Potter Twins’ first birthday as the title with a small description of a party with close friends and family. The last was of a destroyed house with smoke billowing out, the title read Potter family attacked, both parents and their son survived! That one was lengthy describing the fight between the then Dark Lord and the name the Boy Who Lived. After that Hadrian found many articles the potters welcomed their second child home, then a daughter, the eldest getting his Hogwarts letter. None of them mentioned Hadrian after that Halloween.
“What does this mean?” he asked with tears in his eyes, “they just left me because they didn’t need me.”
“Hadrian no, don’t think like that,” he exclaimed, gathering his son into his arms, “I love you so much no matter what. I will always be proud of you.”
They hugged in silence with Hadrian confused about his birth parents, “Harry listen to me, they didn’t drop you off at the orphanage. They don’t even remember you,” he paused at Hadrian trying to speak, “listen. I have done a lot of research to this, and I will tell you these clippings were really hard to find. I asked a few people about you, and only the goblins can verify who you truly are. Otherwise, it is like the entire wizarding world forgot you existed.”
