Tears ran down Damien's face, unable to forget his brother's screams. They were loud and terrifying. As the Flames died out Damian heard his dad calling out for them. Quickly their dad and uncle grabbed Hadrian as the Flames died and took him to the infirmary with Damian following behind. Once their poppy was able to access him.
James and Dumbledore interrupted the silence an hour later. Damian watched as James argued with Madeye and Dumbledore. They were discussing how Hadrian broke the rule of using magic. With James arguing about how he did it to save students.
Finally Damian had enough, "He saved me. I went back there knowing the fire was coming, Hadrian didn't even think he went after me." He stood having the adults' attention with James giving his son a proud look, "it doesn't matter if he used magic or not it matters with what he did with his magic." Damian paused, looking down to Hadrian's prone figure, "he stopped the fire."
He finished taking Hadrian's hand in his sitting back down; he didn't want to say how the fire seemed to listen to him in case they got the wrong idea.
In the end Dumbledore stood up for Hadrian standing with James and sent Madeye away because he, Hadrian, had saved students. Despite this, Damien remained against Poppy and James' wishes.
Two days. The sun rose and fell twice since that first day. Damian stayed with Hadrian. Never leaving and barely sleeping. Guilt ate him, for pushing both Hadrian and Marcus away after the game. It was stupid but he can't take the words away. "You know he won't be upset." Marcus interrupted the quiet Hospital wing.
"How would you know?" Damian asked, looking at Marcus as he sat on the other bed.
"Hadrian and I are brothers in every sense of the word." He smiled softly at the memories, "it's what brothers do when they fight. Say a few things."
"You two have fought?"
Marcus laughed at the idea, "oh ya and the whole castle would know and hear it. Especially about what we are doing here and our plan. There were many arguments, sometimes we didn't talk for quite a while. But ultimately we made up, brushed it off. We're brothers. Just like you are to Hadrian."
Damion hummed at that, looking back at Hadrian, "so he isn't upset about it."
"Cirice, no this is new to both of you, it's bound to happen." Marcus looked back to Hadrian and glared, "and this bloody idiot is being a lazy sod."
Damian looked confused towards Marcus, but then Marcus smirked and looked at Hadrian. He then followed his gaze and found that Hadrian had opened his eyes.
"You've been awake!"
Hadrian chuckled and sat up with Marcus to help, "like I said he is a lazy sod, called me to come up here after class. Wanted me to talk to you. Make sure you don't be as lazy as him."
Damian, seeing his brother sitting up, suddenly sprang to life, tackling his brother. "I'm so sorry. I was rude. I didn't mean anything. I'm sorry. I'm sorry-"
"Stop." Hadrian stopped him. "I don't want another apology."
Damian, looking shocked, sat up on Hadrian's bed "I'm-" He started but stopped again from the look Hadrian gave him. "Can I still call you Harry?"
Hadrian gave his younger brother a fond look, "Of course I'll always be Harry to you."
"Listen," Damien started. "There was a lot of talk dad and I got you one more chance." He looked down while Hadrian and Marcus shared a look.
"What!" came the bustling head nurse "why was I not told he was awake?" She came up and scanned over Hadrian "He needs to rest his magical core is down." She then Acioed a couple potion vials and handed them to him. He watched her holding them and then raised them up to see. "Well, go ahead."
