I stared at the beautiful water out of the window of the airplane, studying the sparkles reflecting off the water from the sun. I boarded the plane six hours ago, my back was cramping. I could not sleep so I entertained myself by studying the earth below me. This is the first time I have ever been on a plane.
I bought a house by a secluded beach in Florida, I was excited to see it. It had a bit of work that needed to be done, but that is exactly what I wanted. A space to be fixed and made into my own.
I leaned my head back and yawned. Every inch of my body was filled with exhaustion.
"The plane will be landing in about an hour or so." A voice next to me stated. I turned and was surprised to see a beautiful woman in the aisle behind me poking her head around my seat. Her eyes were dark brown matching her hair, her skin a creamy cocoa color.
"Oh?" I replied.
"Yeah, I asked the flight attendant. I don't want to be rude, but are you single?"
Is she hitting on me?
"Probably more single than anyone on this plane." I answered.
She grinned.
"Out of curiosity, would it be out of line if I asked you on a date? I've been working up the courage to ask for you a while. Which would be this whole plane ride." She over explained nervously.
"How do you know if I am even going to be near where you are going?"I asked, raising my eyebrows.
"I go where the wind blows baby." She laughed.
I liked her spirit... I hadn't took any chances in a while.
"We can have wine at my new place if you want, it's not all that yet though. We can work on it together if you want." I said, taking my chance but thinking she would definitely say no.
"It's a date." She said, winking at me.
My mouth dropped in surprise. The whole rest of the air time we continued to get to know each other.

"Yeahhhhh! Florida baby!!!" Dalila yelled, wrapping her arm around my neck as we walked away from the plane. She is twenty five years old and loves to spend her time traveling so I came to find out. She was also stunning.
"How do you know I'm not a serial killer Dalila?" I giggled.
She quirked an eye brow, "how do you know I'm not?" She questioned.
"I can read people." I grinned.
She was a lot taller than me. She looked like a goddess in the sun.
"So can I." She replied with a charming smile.
"Touché."
We ordered an Uber, having them drop us off at the beach house.
"Oh, this view is beautiful." She said breathlessly as she stepped out of the car and stood beside me. The sun was setting, giving the beach house a magical look, an orange glow casting over the blue house. It was two stories with black shingles that definitely needed a touch up.
"Indeed." I agreed already envisioning what I wanted to fix on the outside.
We walked through the large front door, my boxes of packed items were stacked everywhere. We dropped our carry on bags on the old wooden floor. The house was cleaner than I thought it would be.
I read the box labels until I found blankets I had packed in the main room with an oval glass window that overlooked the ocean. There were no bulbs in the house for some unknown reason so I had to use the flashlight on my phone. I laid the blankets on the floor.
I moved boxes around as Dalila rambled about ideas the house gave her.
I discovered gift wrapped wine boxes as a house warming gift from the previous owners and took out a bottle along with a cork taped to it.
"Packing is so much easier than unpacking." I grumbled, struggling to find my wine glasses to drink the much needed bottle.
"Tell me about it." She agreed, moving to help me look for two glasses.
Finally we found them.
"Ready for a night on the beach?" I asked her.
She grinned.
"Only if you are." She said.
We headed out and set the scenery up, lining the blankets out perfectly. We sat down and finally opened the wine.
"I like you." She stated as she leaned towards me and tucked my hair behind my ear gently, "Can I kiss you?" She whispered.
My heart fluttered.
"Before the wine?" I joked.
She nervously chuckled, reaching for the bottle. I gently placed my hand on her wrist and pushed the bottle back down to its hole in the sand.
"I'm just kidding, yes."
She leaned in and kissed me tenderly, wrapping her arm around my waist.
My heart raced as she nudged me back on the blanket and began to kiss my neck.
She showed me passion, she showed me consent. She showed me the love I needed to blossom. She is what I have been missing this whole time.
