To say that you were tired would be an understatement.
Breathing heavily, you stayed behind the others as they climbed up the small ledge that had come before you all; trying to catch your breath after all of the running and dodging you had been doing recently.
"(Y/n)?"
Inhaling deeply, you groaned and stretched until you heard a satisfying pop come from your muscles before looking up, only to blink in surprise at the sight of Jin holding his hand out to you, a worried look on his face.
"Take my hand. I'll help you up."
Albeit hesitantly, you slowly nodded and placed your smaller hand in his before jumping up and using your other one to latch onto the ledge. Once you did so, Jin began to pull you up, and you helped him by using your feet to propel yourself upwards.
And out of all of the things you expected to happen, landing yourself into Jin's arms again and nearly causing him to fall backwards was not one of them.
"Oh!" Feeling your cheeks heat up out of embarrassment, you quickly scrambled out of Jin's arms before anything else could happen and stood up; dusting yourself off.
"S-sorry..." you muttered, holding your own hand out to the boy and looking away shyly.
Hearing a chuckle from Jin at your reaction, your cheeks only flushed more when you felt his hand grasp yours, and you quickly pulled him back up onto his own feet.
"Thanks." Though you weren't looking up to face him, you could still hear the smile in his voice, and although it made you feel nice to hear him speak so warmly to you again, you still couldn't help the small liver of pain that shot throughout your entire being as you remembered just how long it had been since you've actually spoken to eachother.
"Um, yeah..." Clearing your throat to regain your composure, you moved a strand of your hair out of your face before turning away from him to walk away.
"No problem."
(Huh. Funnily enough, this is the second time you've said this to him. Weird.)
With all of that said and done, you walked over to join your sister's side; unaware of the pained and longing look Jin was giving you as he watched you go.
You should apologize to her, you know, a voice in his head stated matter-of-factly, making Jin narrow his eyes and shake his head. "No," he muttered, waving a dismissive hand around in the air.
"Not yet. Not now."
"Gosh," you chuckled breathlessly and sat down on the grass, crossing your legs and resting your arms across your knees, "I'm so—"
"Exhausted?"
Looking up to see your sister walking over to you, you both shared a smile with one another as she threw her bag to the floor next to you and laid down; using it as a pillow of the sorts.
"Yeah," your sister sighed contently and closed her eyes, as did you when you felt the cool, night breeze brush along your face. "Me too."
"What?"
Yawning, you looked over to see Jin walking over to you and your sister, his expression being that of a critical one.
"Why are you guys stopping?" he asked, earning a small roll of the eyes from Yí.
"Because," she began, rolling over to lay on her side comfortably before continuing, "in about five minutes, we won't be able to see our hands in front of our faces," she explained, acting as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, making you giggle.
