The doctors stood there awkward, hands in front of themselves.

"um... Mrs Reef would you like to tell us what you would like to name the baby?"
The doctor asked with papers in her hands.

Looking at her daughter and then at her husband for reassurance.

"Do you like Lake?" her husband Mild asked with shiny tears peaking in the corners of his eyes.

Tears peaking at the side of her eyes also, she nods and rocks her newborn cooing daughter.

"Lake Reef it is!" the doctor scribbles down on the certificate.

" born on Saturday the 7th of july.... 4:23 am, 4pounds and 6 ounces......"

The doctor murmurers under her breath as she writes down.

"seems like we are done! Mrs Niya Reef and Mr Mild Reef!" the doctor says happily while giving the papers to a nurse to stamp.

Being cut out of they're trance of looking at there sleeping baby.

They look up and nod waiting for the doctor to say more but a thick silence fills the room instead.

With a nervous expression of her face, biting her lower lip in distraction a slight chalk scraping sound is heard as she scraps with her glass teeth with her clear bottom lip, the doctor looks to the other nurses that give her a look of confirmation to go ahead.

Moving close.

Hands in front of her lap.

She takes her eye protection off and sighs.

"Mr and Mrs Reef would you mind.... Putting Lake in a programme?"

Looking at each other knowing they weren't going to do it, they telepathy spoke without a word spoken.

Moments of silence went by.

"Well?" the doctor asked getting impatient.

"We both thought about it and.... We will not like to put Lake in the programme" Mild said side eyeing the doctor with her rude impatient tone.

Frustration building up.

A red tint showed up on the blue coloured surface of the doctor.

"well, we will just see about that, thank you for answering" the doctor said getting up, out of her chair with a fake smile and going out the door.

BANG!

The wooden light green door slams, the sound echoed through everyone's hollow bodies.

Vibration shakes the room.

Afraid of getting a crack.

The nurses hold onto a chair or there stomachs for stability looked at each other in worry.

The newly parents side eyes each other in worry.

The vibration stops.

"kind apologies for that" one of the nurses says placing a small cream card on the middle of the bed while heading out the door making the other nurses follow.

"congratulations!" was heard from them and a click after, showing they have left.

Seconds of silence.

*sigh* the baby puffed out in her sleep.

The parents looking down straight away.

Sighing as well releasing a breath they, didn't even realise they were even holding.

Looking down on the hospital bed sat a cream card.

Mild taking it.

Turns it over and kisses his teeth.

Throwing it down on the grey cement floor, the card turns over and in neon yellow writing says.

"would you like to reconsider?"
