3 Things About My Writing Style:
- Though I experiment with both, you'll usually find my writing more often in 3rd person than 1st person and 2nd person. 1st person is cringey for me unless I have the right plot and I do it properly, and I have much less experience in 2nd person so...
- I love using flowy, complex sentences when I write and try to use a ton of adjectives to set the scene the best I can.
- For fanfics, I write my stuff directly on Wattpad. I probably shouldn't be doing that, but laziness, you know :D? However, I am trying to get my completed books backed up on Google Docs just in case. For school-related writing and just personal blurbs I don't share, I use Docs. I also use Grammarly because I hate proofreading and I tend to spell a lot of things incorrectly.
4 Things I'd Like to Improve About My Writing Style (I know it's 3 but I have one I really want to improve):
- Descriptiveness: I feel like the way I describe characters/scenes/scenarios isn't that great, which is why I use a ton of words. My wording sometimes makes sense to me, but not to others, so I feel like that needs improvement.
- Spelling: My spelling sucks. I make a lot of little spelling mistakes and type fast, and turn small words into different things (for instance, I type "if" instead of "is" because my fingers just type without me completely paying attention to the keyboard). I also have trouble with spelling some big words without Grammarly correcting me (I've been spelling crescent as "cresent" and didn't realize it was wrong until a few days ago).
- Conveying my idea(s): Sometimes I have this amazing and brilliant idea, but when I go to write it, I can't find the words to put down. It's been getting better since I got a notepad to jot down plot ideas/how I'm going to structure the story, but I still find it difficult to find the right words and sentences to forward and fluff out my plots.
- Finishing things: I have a lot of drafts and a lot of projects, as well as a heck ton of ideas ready to be written, but I find it difficult to always have time/inspiration to write a lot in a day. I have huge, majestic AUs in my drafts, but I find it hard to balance my incomplete works with my drafted ones, as well as small and spontaneous drafts that I want to make to get stuff out into the world.
