The first day (part 2)

After around five minutes of waiting at the bus stop with a few other kids that arrived before us, a bright yellow school bus arrived. It all suddenly became very real very fast. My heart started beating as fast as if I'd been running for miles. I wiped my forehead and took a moment to myself and thought 'your going to be fine, you already vividly know someone and it's their first day too. You can help each-other just breathe, Darcy.' As the doors swung open, the other kids pushed us out of the way before we got the chance to move.
"After you" Miguel and I said at the same time. We both started giggling.
"Ladies first" he put out his hand jokingly,I held it and he helped me onto the bus.
Pretty much all of the seats were taken, the only two left were at the very back of the bus next to two very scrawny-looking boys. One had dark hair and was very pale and the other had brown hair, a scar above his lip and ocean blue eyes that you could get lost in for an endless amount of time. He was very handsome and had the perfect smile. He was wearing a sweater which looked old but suited him very much. They looked rather lonely but seemed to like eachothers company.
I made a small gesture to Miguel showing him the empty seats next to the two boys. We slowly walked over to them.
"Are these seats taken?" Miguel asked in the polite way in which he always talks.
"Sorry, but there's a very long waiting list I can fit you in by next Christmas at the earliest." Said the pale boy sarcastically.
"Oh ok" I said as Miguel said absolutely nothing he looked very blank and was unsure on what to say.
"Hey, I'm joking sit," Miguel sat by the window and I sat next to the handsome boy with ocean eyes that were staring back into mine. I felt my cheeks begin to turn red. The pale boy let out a fake cough to interrupt the awkward moment.
"I'm Demetri, and this is Eli, my binary brother, he's a man of few words." He gestured towards the brown haired boy who gave me butterflies. We smiled at eachother and once again, I got lost in his eyes. Miguel nudged me slightly to bring me back into reality.
"I'm Darcy, and this is my friend, Miguel," I said while trying to hide what just happened. Miguel smiled.
"We just moved here, what about you guys?" Miguel said, forcing an ice-breaker onto us.
"We've lived here all our lives, great place to grow up unless your nerds like us. So you're new here, did you move together or?"Eli said in a timid voice.
"No, I just moved into my dads apartment with him and Miguel... actually where did you move from Miguel? You never mentioned it."
"Oh I'm from Riverside my mum and my grandma moved me here a few weeks ago"
"What do you mean unless your nerds like you? If you don't mind me asking." I said curiously.
"We're pretty much bullied every day but we have eachother Eli here is my best friend. Demetri and Eli binary brothers (in song)"
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that well I think your both pretty cool."
"You don't need to lie, Darcy," said Eli softly, "we know we're losers Demetri is scrawny as hell -no offence- and look at my lip."
"I think your lip makes you look really brave and if someone tries to come near you again come to me I'll sort them out. By the way I really like your sweater Eli you look really cute in it." I realised what I had said and that I had said it out load. Oh my god this was so awkward!
"Oh...um thanks Darcy *blushes* you look really pretty too."
It happened again.
I got lost in his eyes.
And he got lost in mine.
It was as if we were the only two people in the world.
It then became awkward once more.
"Oh look we're here." Miguel said.
We all sighed in relief that the awkward moment had passed. I felt so embarrassed and felt as if I was going to pass out.
"Which room is your home room?" I asked in attempt to break the tension.
"Well um me and Demetri have room D13 what about you two?"
Me and Miguel looked at our letter which told us where to go.
"I have A4 what about you Darc?"
"Ummmm let's see... oh A6"
"You guys are on the other side of the school but your close together atleast" Demetri explained.
"Oh okay thanks, We'll catch you guys later?" Miguel asked in hope that they wanted us to be around.
"Definitely, I'll see you later Darcy." Eli blushed and awkwardly smiled at me.
"Bye Eli, oh wait! Here's my number I'll text you to see if we have any classes together after home room."
Eli looked embarrassed but happy at the same time.
"Yeah I'll call you and meet you in the math corridor later."
We waved and me and Miguel began walking in a different direction.
"Oh my god Darcy!" Miguel said in a joking voice.
"What?"
"You like Eli!"
"No I don't shut up"
"Don't lie to me!"
I started to blush and couldn't hide it.
"I knew it!" Miguel said teasing me.
"Is it that obvious?!" I froze and hoped it wasn't.
"Hell yeah! Did you not see the way you kept looking at each other?!"
"Oh shut up, Miggy!"
"Don't call me that!"
"Sorry Miggy."
We giggled and teased eachother until we got to the corridor where our home rooms were.
