The first day (part 3)

During the 20 minute home room with total strangers staring and whispering about 'the geeky new girl', I couldn't stop thinking about Eli. All sorts of questions were rushing through my head.
Is it that obvious? Does Demetri know? If he does is he going to tell Eli? Does Eli know? Does he like me back? What am I thinking ofcourse he doesn't. He is perfect in every single way, and I'm just a geeky girl who watches nerd s***. Even if he did he wouldn't tell me. There are so many pretty girls at West Valley High who are gorgeous, so if Eli liked anyone it would obviously be one of them.
*bell rings*
I got my bag, took out a piece of chewing gum, and put the bag which weighed a ton and left the classroom.
Suddenly I heard my phone ring.
An unknown caller was calling me. I knew exactly who it was and picked up.
"Hey Darc! What classroom are you in now?"
"Hey Eli, I've got maths in C7. You?"
Even the sound of his voice over the phone gave me butterflies.
"Oh my god same! I'll meet you outside the classroom now!"
"Okie dokie I'll see you in a sec!"
I hung up and headed to the classroom that was on the map.
"Boo!" Someone hugged me from behind and I almost jumped out of my skin! I turned around immediately to whoever it was.
"Eli! What the hell were you doing you scared the crap out of me!"
"Sorry princess I couldn't help myself."
Wait- did he call me princess?!
I had to keep my 'cool' if I had any left in me after a scare like that.
"Yeah well you better watch your back little bean I'll be getting you back soon!"
He did his shy laugh that I adore and we headed to class.
I loved being around Eli. Just a half hour ago he was a shy little bean who hardly spoke. He's still like that with everyone else but I love that he's a bit more confident around me already. But when he called me 'princess, I knew it was a joke but it still gave me a tingling sensation down my spine and in my tummy.
I was wondering where Miguel had gotten to but I presumed he had a different class as he would have walked the same way as me.
The bell rang.
"Cummon princess you don't want to be late for your first lesson!"
"I'm coming little bean."
"Don't call me that princess."
"Then don't call me that either little bean cummon were going to be late!"
We giggled together and walked into class.
"Okay class this year I have set up a seating arrangement for you all." Said a bald teacher with glasses who spoke in a very serious manor,
The whole class sighed and waited for their name to be called and shown to their seats.
Lots of people had their names called out when my name was called and I was shown to my assigned place. I hoped that whoever sat next to me wasn't going to be a total jerk.
"Eli moskowitz I want you next to Miss Lawrence please."
"Yes!" I got so excited but I felt so nervous at the same time. The butterflies in my tummy came back and I froze once more.
The lesson had flown by as all I really did was a few questions, sharpened my pencil, flirted with Eli and got lost in his eyes for an hour!
The bell rang for break and me and Eli headed to the library to study and keep out of the crowds.
"So did you enjoy your lesson princess?"
That still gave me butterflies but I had to accept that the name had stuck.
"Yeah um but that teacher was so dull."
"I know but atleast I got to sit by you." He blushed.
It then made me blush again.
"Hey it's lip!" Came an obnoxious sounding voice from around a bookshelf.
"Who's that Eli?"
"It's Kyler and his friends cummon let's get out of here."
We got ready to leave until a guy with dark hair and an evil smile grabbed Eli's bag.
"Where do you think you're goin then?"
I felt my face turn bright red with fury.
"What girl would ever want to kiss this guy?" They all began to laugh at him.
I pulled Eli and punched Kyler in the nose.
"I would!"
I realised that I'd said it out loud and turned bright red.I let the moment pass and told Kyler to keep away from Eli or I would do much more damage.
"Are you okay Eli?" I said hoping that he hadn't heard what I'd shouted to Kyler.
"I'm um fine Darcy thank you. Oh my god are you ok though I'm sorry I shouldn't have gotten you involved."
"You didn't Eli! I was the reason he made me so mad when he was talking to you like that I couldn't bear it!"
"Thanks... so about what you said."
Oh god here it comes the awkward moment where he friend zones me. What am I meant to say?
"Oh um sorry about that,"
He leaned in and so did I.
My heart skipped a beat.
Was this a dream?
Was I in a coma?
"Guys?"
We jumped and moved away quickly. It was Miguel and Demetri. We looked at eachother and me and Eli went bright red.
"Do u guys want to study?"
We signed and nodded. What a relief! I don't know if they saw us but I know that if they did Miguel would end up saying something.
We studied for 15 minutes and discussed what classes we had next. We all had biology together so hopefully I was sat by one of them.
The bell rang and we packed up our books and headed to biology. The teacher told us to get into groups of 3-5 so ofcourse the four of us teamed up. While Eli and Demetri went to get the supplies Miguel nudged me.
"So darc..."
"Yes Miggy?"
"Did Eli kiss you?"
"What? No! What are you talking about?"
He shook his head.
"Look I'm not stupid. I know what I saw. You either kissed or were about to."
"Fine I think we were about to but shut up Miggy they're coming back! Please don't tell anyone."
"I won't don't worry."
The rest of the day went pretty quick and at the end of the day Demetri invited us to all watch Stranger Things on Netflix together so I rang my dad to tell him.
"Hey dad is it okay if I go to Demetris for a bit?"
"Hey kiddo! Yeah sure as long as it's not just you and a random boy you met today."
"Dad! Demetri is just a friend and my friend Eli will be there. And so will Miguel, actually could you tell his mum, Carmen please?"
"Okay no problem kiddo have fun!"
