Payback

When we got to Demetri's place, we poured ourselves a drink, grabbed some snacks and headed upstairs. Demetri's room was nerd central! There were posters all over the walls, pokemon plushies and collectibles galore! Miguel and Demetri sat on a blue couch and I sat with Eli on a large bean bag while we watched the first Harry Potter movie. We ordered a pizza to share and then put on the second one. During the Basilisk scene, Eli looked really on edge and I just couldn't resist...
"Boo!"
He jumped up and gave me a stare as if to say 'are you serious?' He gave me a smirk and said, "Your in for it now princess!"
Before I got the chance to run away, he grabbed me and started tickling me. I grabbed his wrist and flipped him over my shoulder, carefully so that I didn't hurt him.
"Bloody hell Darcy how did you do that?"
"It's karate little bean next time you better watch and learn." I gave him my hand and helped him up. Demetri threw a pillow at me because I was in the way of the tv, but I caught it and hit Eli with it. He chased me across the room for a while until...
"Just kiss her already!" Demetri and Miguel shouted in unison. We rolled our eyes, sat back down and watched the rest of the movie.
At around 9.30 pm, Carmen called Miguel and told him she would be picking the both of us up. When she arrived, I thanked Demetri and gave him an awkward hug. This was my chance to hug Eli too! So without hesitation I hugged him, presuming that it would be awkward, but it wasn't. It was the exact opposite. I hung out with Miguel at his place for a while before heading to my apartment to see my dad. Just as I waved goodbye to Miguel, my phone started to ring.
"Hey little bean! What's up?"
"Hey princess! I had a lot of fun tonight. I didn't know you did karate!"
"Hell yeah! My dad didn't lose a single tournament in his junior year! He taught me everything I know!"
The butterflies arose in my tummy again. I loved talking to Eli! He was just so easy to talk to!
"Well it was very impressive. Do you think you could teach me sometime?"
Oh my god. I got so excited and my heart did a backflip!
"Sure it sounds like fun!"
"Great I'll save you a seat on the bus tomorrow by the way."
"Thanks night Eli!"
"Night Darc!"
I was so excited! As I got home I sat next to my dad and explained to him that I wanted to get back into karate. At first he was very stubborn about it but after a lot of hard work I pursued him to open a new dojo as it would bring some money in.
I called Eli telling him that in a few weeks my dad was opening a karate dojo and he told Demetri (Eli stayed the night). I ran over to Miguel's and explained everything. Demetri was hesitant and wasn't sure about the idea but Eli and Miguel couldn't wait!
In just a few weeks I could help Eli to learn how to stand up for himself- okay and Miguel and Demetri but I couldn't wait to see Eli stick up for himself!
