It was a rainy day outside the training camp. Yukichi Fukuzawa sighed as the training was cancelled. It might take weeks before it resumes. But there was always a private gym where he and the other top 5 swordsmen can train. He was a very quiet person and never got acquainted with anyone else except Fukuchi. At the age of 30, he wasn't in a rush to get married. He wanted to be one of the best swordsmen of the government first. He was training for that.

He was doing some kind of report for their head as his immediate superior came inside his lodging area.
"Fukuzawa... You have a new rival." He alerted him as Fukuzawa stood straight and gave a nod. It wasn't a rule to be so formal anymore when you're the cream of the crop. But it was a common courtesy to just nod.

A slender young woman came in.
"Who is she?" He asks the superior and the young woman just stared ahead blankly.
"The new top 5. The lowest in the cream of the crop. She's got what it takes. But she's still under supervision." The superior tells him and went out.

"Okay state your name and how did you exactly get in here?" He asks the new 5th.
"I don't need to explain myself to you." She scoffed and Fukuzawa just took out his sword and pointed at her.

"I said... State your name and how you got in here. You better answer because it's a requirement to be my room mate." He tells her.

Your P.O.V.:

Who does he think he is? You ask yourself getting irritated as heck with the man. He doesn't look like a goon but he doesn't look so nice either. You eyed the silver haired man and stared at him. You didn't like not getting any compliments from males. Yes it was required that you get used to that but you realize this morning that your charm hasn't faded upon entering the academy and now you're at the top 5. You've been waiting for a long time for this and didn't want to loose it because of this arrogant prick.

"Y/N, L/N. Happy?" You ask as you dump your shoulder bag on the table. It had his book on top of it and needless to say the book got wet.
"You better watch out where you're dumping your things. You got my book wet." He says simply and takes the book.

"I don't care. And besides... I'm here to train and nothing else. Learn from someone stronger and not some petty men who think women don't belong here." You glare at him and you grabbed some clothes to change. It wasn't a play ground you've entered but a war zone. A mistake could lead you down the drain.

"So you don't know what common courtesy is?" He asks before you managed to get out of the shared room. You froze. Yes you did make a mistake for not being courteous. It was because you were greeted with an arrogant man that pointed a katana at you.

"Says the one who pointed a katana at my neck at our first meeting. I didn't have any obligation to answer your questions. And besides, I'm a person who you need to earn respect from. Not by just being a man." You finally walk out of the room.

You take a bath at a record speed but made sure you got everything scrubbed and cleaned. You were used to this. From an abusive home that learned how to protect herself from her own father. Your mother died because of extreme physical, sexual, mental and emotional abuse from her own husband.

You only got away because of the emergence of your ability at 12 years of age. You had an uncle who treated you as his own and taught you how to use your ability for the better. As a woman you were always told to be obedient and lenient to the men around you.

Of course you disagreed. You didn't want to be a man's slave like your mother. You didn't want to get married but to be stronger than a man. Be like one. But your heart remain a lady. You were taught everything your uncle knew when it comes to fighting. And with that you trained and polished yourself to become a better fighter. Entering the academy raised a lot of brows.
