Chapter 7

It seemed God just heard his prayers as the weather began to change and the wind started blowing. The sand on the beach was rising up making both Kalpi and Romeo get up and leave the beach! Kalpi sighed yahan bhi chain nahi! No peace of mind here too! Romeo heard that and decided he had to cheer up today at any cost.

Come lets go he said. Kalpi did not want to go back to an empty home. She had never spent a night alone and she was confused, hurt and diappointed that why did all of a sudden everyone just leave her? With a heavy heart she moved towards her car. But this time Romeo was the one to get into the drivers seat and asked her to sit on the passenger seat. Kalpi felt a bit thankful to him as she was not in a condition to drive! Thoughts kept coming to her mind.

Did Prem just leave to avoid me or my confrontation! He never bothered to ask me where I had spent the night! I was about to talk to him about last night and he diverted me to the office work. In the past 1 year I had requested him so many times if I could join he kept rejecting and now all of a sudden he asks me to take over such a prestigious project and he suddenly leaves to visit Aai Baba at Nasik! Should I talk to baba over the phone? What will I ask him?

Seems like its going to rain today, looks like the sky too is crying at your mood. Hmmm Kalpi had not heard what exactly Romeo had said. She came out of her thoughts to hear him talking. Why do you seem so disturbed today?  Nothing much Romeo you wont understand! Try me he said. She wanted to avoid this conversation so switched on the radio. Purani Jeans playing and the RJ was saying how the old songs reflected our moods even today!! And then played the song ...Ajeeb Dastan hai ye!!!

 Kalpi listened to the song and sighed. The words were so meaningful!!!

Ajeeb Dastaan hai yeh kahan shuru kahan khatam

(How strange is this story dunno where it starts from and where will it end)

Ye manzilen hai kaun si na woh samajh sake na hum

(Where is our last destination both me n you couldn't understand)

Romeo noticed that the song made Kalpi even more sad and though he loved this song by Lata Mangeshkar he chose to switch the radio station. 

Why did you change? Dont you like Lataji's songs she asked. hmmm but it seems it is not the right song for your mood. Really? Kalpi tried to hide her sadness and put up a plastic smile on her face and said what is wrong with my mood when I have a personal singer who can sing any song at my request! I feel like Akbar and you are my Tansen!!! ha ha 

Romeo could read the pain in her eyes and how she was trying to cover it up by trying to be jovial! He felt bad that she did not know him enough to share her woes with him. And then the radio played another song which actually played what Raghav was thinking!

(Why are you smiling this much)

Kya gham hai jisko chupa rahey ho

(What pain is it that you wish to hide behind your smile)

Romeo started singing along looking at Kalpi in between. Kalpi felt uncomfortable and she switched off the radio. You were right they are playing all sad songs tonight! Why dont you sing something Romeo! Romeo smiled and said ok and started singing

Naayak nahi Khalnaayak hun main 

I am not a hero but a villain

Zulmi bada dukh daayak hum nain

I am ruthless and gives pain to everyone

Kalpi for the first time that evening smiled genuinely and even started laughing! Romeo please dont sing anything!!! LOL
