Chapter 4: Melancholic Night

Aurora leaned on him, so he just let her sleep on his shoulder even though he was uncomfortable. To get rid of his uneasiness, Claudio took his cell phone and watched his friends' posts on a social platform, and as he scrolled down, he saw a photo that brought hatred to him. The person in the picture was Rhiannon, along with her new boyfriend.

"This face is familiar. He was the one behind Lucio," Claudio murmured.

At first, Rhiannon was so tender to Claudio, it resulted in a happy and lovely relationship. They both go out every weekend to date.

The simple and cheap treats are enough as long as they are together. Everything was fine, but as the calendar filled up quickly and the days passed by, Rhiannon suddenly changed.

The loving Rhiannon had changed. She became cold-hearted and apathetic. Rhiannon no longer shows up to Claudio and even though Claudio was waiting in her room, she'd just ignore Claudio and go home. The sweet and pleasant words from her were gone, but what hurts the most was to see that Claudio is no longer the person who makes her happy.

Claudio was always there, but every time he comes near, Rhiannon will just push him away. Their relationship became like a magnet. Claudio was confused, and it brought him great pain, yet he still insists.

In the end, Rhiannon didn't even give Claudio a sufficient and acceptable reason until the two of them parted ways and bid their farewell.

Twenty-five minutes later, they reached the street where they got out of the car. Claudio immediately tapped Aurora and said that they had arrived. When she woke up, Aurora immediately took some cash from her bag and handed it to the drive, but Claudio stopped her.

"I already paid the fee, so just pay me later," Claudio said. "Sleepyhead."

"Why later, if I can just give it to you right away?" Aurora said.

"Now you're awake," Claudio muttered.

Aurora immediately gave the money to Claudio and thanked him, then they proceeded. Claudio followed Aurora towards their house, and on their way, they ran into a woman. It was Lucent. She was wearing a white camisole paired with black shorts.

Aurora asked Lucent.

"Where are you going, Busty?" Aurora said. "Why are you not wearing a bra?"

"I'll just buy a food there, Meatball," Lucent said.

Lucent is Aurora's close cousin. They have been very close since childhood. They were in the same class from elementary to high school. One of the reasons also why they are intimate with each other is that their house is just next to each other.

Lucent noticed that Aurora was with a man, so she got curious and asked Aurora. She looked at Aurora gingerly while smirking.

"Oh me, oh my. Aurora just had a boyfriend," Lucent muttered.

Aurora quickly interrogated.

"He is not my boyfriend," Aurora said.

The two of them continued walking towards their house as Lucent left, and in just a few moments, they arrived.

"Just here, Claudio. This is our house," Aurora said. "Thank you."

After she said goodbye, she entered their gate and went to their house. When Aurora entered, Claudio went home. He certainly has a lot on his plate. He walked fast because he was sure that it's traffic now, and it would take him a long time to get home.

On his way home, he met Lucent again, so he avoided looking at her. He doesn't want people to get involved with him. He doesn't like them to pry into his life. Lucent caught sight of Claudio avoiding her, so she asked him.
