Detention
Darbus Style

"𝑮𝑶𝑳𝑫! More gold!" Ms. Darbus shouted

Ms. Darbus walks by Troy, Chad, Theo, and Cameron to inspect their work. Ms. Darbus then notices Gabriella. Luckily for Theo, Cherry was put far, far away from him.

"Paint, paint! Let's go!" Ms. Darbus shouted

As Ms. Darbus walks off, Taylor hurries excitedly over to Gabriella, holding the printed article about Gabriella. Theo listens in on their conversation.

"The answer is yes!" Taylor said

"Huh?" Gabriella asked

"Our scholastic decathlon team has it's first competition next week, and there is certainly a spot for you." Taylor said

Gabriella notices the printouts in Taylor's hand.

"Where did those come from?" Gabriella asked

"Didn't you put them in my locker?" Taylor asked

"Of course not." Gabriella said

"Oh, well, we'd love to have you on our team. We meet almost everyday after school. Please?" Taylor asked

"I need to catch up on the curriculum here before I think about joining any clubs, besides I just joined Sunset Curve." Gabriella said

"Well, what a perfect way to get caught up. Meeting with the smartest kids in school. What a generous offer, Taylor." Sharpay said

Theo looks over at his ex-girlfriend, wondering what she's up to.

"So many new faces in detention today. I hope you don't make a habit of it, but the drama club could always use an extra hand. And while we are working, let us probe the mounting evils of cell phones." Ms. Darbus shouted

Later, Chad has fallen asleep inside the tree and Troy is tickling his nose with a paper leaf. Max and Ryan are hiding behind the curtain, making out. Theo and Cameron are talking with Gabriella about a gig that's coming up.

"Perhaps the most heinous example of cell phone abuse is ringing in the theater. What temerity! The theater is a temple of art. A precious cornucopia of creative energy." Ms. Darbus said

Coach Bolton arrives and is not happy.

"Where's my team, Darbus?" Coach Bolton asked

Coach Bolton notices Troy and Chad in the prop tree.

"What the heck are those two doing in a tree?" Coach Bolton asked

"It's called crime and punishment, Bolton. Besides, proximity to the arts is cleansing for the soul." Ms. Darbus told them

"Can we have a talk? Please?" Coach Bolton asked

He turns to Troy and Chad.

"And you two, in the gym, now!" Coach Bolton ordered

Troy gets down from the tree and pulls Chad out of the tree, making him wake up, and the two leave the auditorium.

Once detention ends, Sunset Curve walks out of the auditorium and gets ready to head to Theo's garage for rehearsal. 

"Theo!" A voice called

Theo turns around and sees Sharpay walking towards him. He turns back to his bandmates.

"I'll meet you guys at my house." Theo said

Gabriella, Max, and Cameron nod, and walk out of school. Theo turns around to face his ex.

"What's up Sharpay?" Theo asked

"'What's up' that's all you have to say?" Sharpay asked

"I don't know what you want me to say." Theo confessed

"How about, 'I've missed you so much Shar' or 'I'm sorry I've been around that fake red-head'." Sharpay offered

"Cherry?" Theo asked, confused

"Oh, I don't care what her name is. All I care about is that she's all over what's mine." Sharpay said

"I'm not yours anymore, Sharpay. You made that clear when we broke up." Theo said

"But-" Sharpay started

"But nothing, Sharpay. We broke up and you have no say in who I do or don't date." Theo said

Suddenly, Cherry walks over to the two.

"Is there a problem here?" Cherry asked

"Ugh, go away Candy." Sharpay said

"It's Cherry." Cherry corrected

"Whatever, this doesn't concern you." Sharpay said

"It does when you're talking to my boyfriend." Cherry said

"Boyfriend?" Sharpay and Theo asked, in unison

"Yeah, Theo's my boyfriend." Cherry said, proudly

"What are you talking about? You're not my girlfriend." Theo denied

"Yes I am. You said so at the ski lodge." Cherry said

"No I didn't." Theo said

"Uh, yes you did. You said so when we had sex." Cherry said

"You had sex with her?" Sharpay asked, irritated

"Uh, duh! Who wouldn't?" Cherry said

Theo just shakes his head and walks away from the arguing girls.
