7pm...
Reading, United Kingdom...

At 7pm on the same day as Evelyn's scuffle at Diagon Alley, Evelyn and Johnny appeared outside of the Granger's house, Johnny suddenly very pale and nervous.

"You look nervous," Evelyn smirked at Johnny.

"O-of course not," Johnny's stutter instantly.

"O-of course you are," Evelyn mocked as she knocked three times on the door. Her busted lip had been fixed using magic and she now wore a full face of makeup with a black dress that ended at her knee. Johnny wore a pair of brown suede Chelsea boots, dark blue skinny jeans, a white button up shirt and a brown jumper over the top.

"One moment!" The mother and son duo heard from behind the door. True to their word, the door opened a moment later and Mr. Granger came into view, a drop of sweat dripping down his forehead which he quickly wiped away. "You must be Evelyn and Johnny! I'm Wendell, Monica's husband! Come in!"

"Hermione is upstairs, mate, first door on the right," Mr. Granger motioned upstairs. Johnny thanked him.

Johnny stood in front of the door Mr. Granger mentioned. The door was open and Johnny could see Hermione sat in front of her vanity mirror, running a brush through her hair.

"Hey," Johnny said, knocking on the door three times. Johnny laughed as Hermione jumped and spun around in here seat.

"Hey," Hermione smiled back. There was an awkward silence in the air when both kids remembered how their mothers openly outed their feelings towards each other earlier that day.

"I think we should talk about it," Hermione whispered, her face heating up at the thought of Johnny recuperating her feelings. Hermione looked up, to see Johnny standing next to her.

"I've never felt like this before," Johnny muttered, sitting on the bed next to the vanity Hermione was sitting at. "I don't really know how to describe it either. I just know I have these feelings for you and they're not feelings a best friend should feel."

"I feel the same, you know?" Hermione smiled, reaching out to grab Johnny's hand. Johnny smiled and gave her hand a squeeze. "Do you, uh, want to take things slowly?"

"I'd like that," Johnny smiled.

Mrs. Granger called them both to come down and eat.

"Are we keeping this between us for now?" Johnny asked, standing up while still holding Hermione's hand.

"We should hold off on telling our parents," Hermione agreed. "But I think we should tell our friends."

Johnny agreed instantly and blushed a deep crimson when Hermione walked past him, kissing his cheek.

"So, Johnny," Wendell said as they tucked into Mrs. Granger's famous beef casserole. "You play any sports?"

"In Primary School I played football and rugby," Johnny said after swallowing his food. "And I actually play Quidditch for my House."

"Any favourite teams?" Wendell asked, clearly very interested in sports.

"For Football, definitely Arsenal," Johnny grinned.

"My man!" Wendell and Johnny high-fived. "What about Rugby and Quidditch? Did I pronounce that right?"

"You did," Johnny nodded. "And probably the Scarlets for Rugby and I haven't got a favourite Quidditch team."

"Ah, you like the Welsh," Wendell nodded. "My Hermione tells me you're an excellent Quidditch player."

"Does she now?" Johnny smirked at Hermione, who was blushing madly as she conversed with the other women, occasionally listening to their conversations. "Has she mentioned the fact she wears one of my jerseys to my games?"

Wendell shook his head, smirking at his daughter who was blushing even more, which shouldn't be possible.

"They seem to be hitting it off well," said Monica to Hermione and Evelyn just as Johnny got into detail about the rules of Quidditch. The two males were so engrossed with their conversation, they didn't realise the women had finished their meals and were tidying away for dessert. After tucking into cake and ice cream, they retreated to the living room, where to Hermione's absolute horror, Monica was bringing out her baby pictures.

"You look cute," said Johnny, holding up a picture of two year old Hermione being bathed in the kitchen sink by Wendell.

"I hate you," Hermione groaned, blushing red for what had to be the millionth time that night.

"If that's code for one day deeply in love with me..." Johnny let out a groan as Hermione punched him in the ribs. It wasn't long before Wendell had gotten bored and turned on Sky Sports just in time for a recap of the previous football season.

"We must be off," Evelyn said as she glanced down at her watch, noticing it was 10:30pm. Johnny shook hands with Wendell and hugged Monica before he approached Hermione.

"I'll see you on the train?" He asked hopefully.

"Of course," Hermione giggled, hugging Johnny tightly and kissing his cheek. "The usual compartment."
