Before we say goodbay

★Chapter IV★

From that day on, no one had ever seen Ashley again.  I tried to find out where she was, I was at her grandparents and uncles but no one knew anything.  Finally, after a week of searching, I gave up.  I knew that since she was gone, she would not come back.

The days at school were boring and gray.  I had no one to talk to, I was just sitting in class, waiting for the end of the lesson.

One day at school, my history teacher informed us that we were going to do a project in groups.  I didn't like this idea because first, I didn't have anyone to do the project with.  Secondly, I don't know anythig from history at all. I slept most of the classes and I always cheadted on the tests.

The teacher shouted >>You have 3 minutes to get into pairs.  I will write everything down, so there is no need that you will convince me later that you are paired with someone else.  Tree, two, one,...now you have 3 minutes to get into pairs<<
3 minutes have passed and I was still sitting alone. Honestly, I was hoping that some girl would want to be in pair with me, but I was wrong here.

The teacher started asking all students who they were pairs with. 
Unfortunately, it was my turn,>>Joy, who are you paired with?<<  I coughed innocent and began to sound like >>I ... I ... I ...I...alone ...<<

>>She is in pair with me, professor<<,replied Hugo confidently. Surprised, I looked at him and then at the teacher. The teacher replied with an uncertain voice >>Okay, next ...<<

Immediately after the lesson ended, Hugo left the class.  I immediately ran after him. I was so busy with following him that I accidentally entered the men's WC. Hugo saw me and got scared. 

>>Joy !!<<,he shouted in a low voice. At that moment, we heard someone flushing the water and leaving the cabin.toilet cubcile.  In fear, Hugo grabbed my hand and we both hid in the second  toilet cubcile. I stood on the toilet so that nobody could see my feet. All this time Hugo showed me to keep quiet.

Finally somene left the restroom. Hugo took my hand and led me out of the toilet in a sick mood.

>>Are you dumb?How did you get the idea, to enter the men's toilet?  If someone would see you, you would have problems!<< he said, looking at me with that evil eyesight.

>>Sweet jesus, I'm sorry, I didn't do it on purpose.  And besides, no one has seen me anyway, so why all these nerves at once<<, I said in an innocent voice with a tiny smile on my face.

Hugo looked at me and said sarcastically >>No, you're right, nothing happened<< then he stupidly smiled at me. 

>>Okay, I didn't come here to argue with you.  I wanted to ask why did you choose me for that project?<< I asked politely. 

Then he replied confidently, >>Did you have any better options besides me?<< ,he smiled and blushed slightly. 

>>You, hey you ...<< I replied, not surely pointing my finger at him.  He smiled and then responded in a nice voice >>I'll see you in the library at 4:00 PM Just don't forget!<<,and he disappeared.

It was already 4:00 PM, so I showed up at the library.  Hugo was already waiting for me there. He had a lot of books and a laptop with him. 
I walked over to him and sat down asking, >>What are we doing?<<

>>Are you serious? A project for history, in case you forgot already?!  We only have one day!<< ,he replied laughing. 

>>Oh yeah I forgot<< I told in a tired voice. 

To which Hugh asked, laughing >>We haven't even started and you are tired?<

>>Don't you see? Anyway, I don't know anything about it, so I don't know how can I help << I replied. 

>>I know, so I will prepare all the materials and you will arrange it and decorate it nicely.  And then we'll practice it, okay?<<,he replied with a nice smile

I replied: >>Okay, I should be able to do that, wait how do you know that I ...<<

>>So let's go to work<< Hugo interrupted me.

I was surprised this was my first time doing something to school.  In addition, throughout my work, I had no problems talking to Hugo.  We talked as if we had known each other for ages.  However, in those moments when we both had something to do and we were both quiet, one thing was bothering me.  And that was Hugo.  All this time I couldn't stop staring at him. He looked so good when he wrote these notes. Somehow as I looked at him my heart started to beat faster and faster.

After 3 hours we finally finished preparing everything.  All we had left was to prepare and practice what each of us would say. It was cool! We laughed and joked with each other. We couldn't even be serious for a moment.  But somehow we made it.  And as I looked at it, our project was great, we had so much information and we were well prepared.

 

After 5 hours of learning together, it was time to go home.  Unfortunately, there was no bus , so we went home on our feet.  In fact, you could call it a walk. Throughout our walk, we talked and laughed.  Suddenly, we became friends from strangers. 

At one point I asked >>Why are you so nice to me? Don't you remember how I treated you on your 1st day at school?  Actually,I'm sorry for that ... I didn't want it to turn out like this ... but heck I don't know ... I'm generally a strange person so you have to forgive me for that ... well I really...<<

And then he interrupted me while laughing at me >>Okay, okay, your  apologies are officialy accepted. And I'm nice because when I came here, I thought you were a nice person.  Sometimes you have to be patient to save a little puppy from the body of a scary dragon <<

I laughed, not consciously, to which I replied indignantly >>Wait what?  Dragon? You'll see when I kick your ass<<

And he started running away from me, laughing.  Any moment and we were already in front of my house.  Immediately I asked >>Wait, you live closer, why did you come here with me?<<

>>I ... I ... it's dark, I wanted to be sure you would come home safely ...<< he replied not surely. 

I blushed my cheeks and said in a sweet voice >>Thank you for getting me home safely. Then I will go to ... <<

At this point, Hugo interrupted me, asking >>Wait Joy, can I even have your number? <<

I smiled and replied,  >>Sure!<< And we exchanged numbers and said goodbye to each other.

When I got home and closed the door, I was the happiest in the world.  I ran quickly to my room and lay down on the bed, all red.  I don't know why, maybe it was just cold outside, But I was happy for sure.  That night, Hugo and I wrote all night until morning, even though we had school the next day and what's more important, we had our project!
