3rd Person POV:

Annabeth and Percy are 7 years old now and still incredibly close, they even go to the same elementary school together.

Percy's POV:

"I'm gonna do it Grover, I'm going to ask her to marry me!" I exclaimed to my friend, feeling excited and nervous all at the same time.

Grover looked over at me confusedly as he nibbled on his juice box. "Your going to what? With who?"

I rolled my eyes. "Annabeth, I'm going to ask her to marry me." I clarified.

"Dude we're 7." He chuckled.

I pondered that for a second. I mean yeah we were young but I've known Annabeth since we were 3 and I loved her. I don't know why adults find relationships so hard, just marry your best friend.

"Yeah I know man, but I love her and I want her to be my best friend forever." I decided.

"Do you know what happens at a wedding?" he asked me curiously.

"I went to one for my uncle awhile ago. Some guy just asks if you will be married to that person forever and you agree then you kiss and then your married." I explained.

"Oh ok. Who are you gonna get to be the guy who asks you?"

"Well G-man I was hoping you would?" I asked hopeful.

"Alright but I get all the cake and your mom's enchiladas!" He exclaimed happily.

I decided to wait till after the wedding to tell him there would be no food.

I looked at the little ring in my hand. I had found one in a claw machine, that had a little sea green gem in the middle, the other day at the arcade. I was so excited to give it to her and ask her to marry me.

I looked out on the playground and found Annabeth sitting on the swings talking to our friend Hazel. Grover gave me a thumbs up and a smile and I bundled up my courage and went up to her. I kept the ring in my back pocket.

"Hey Beth!" I greeted her.

"Hey Seaweed Brain." She smiled up at me.

I turned to Hazel.

"Hey Haze could I have a minute with Annabeth?" I asked her pleadingly.

She smiled and simply nodded before making her way towards Grover.

I looked back at my best friend. Her Gray eyes sparkling with curiosity. I grabbed both of her hands and kneeled down in front of her. She looked down at me with confusion on her face.

"Annabeth I've known you for as long as I can remember. We've always been there for each other and you'll always be my best friend, but I want to make it official. Annabeth Chase will you marry me?"

I sucked in a breath as I watched several emotions go through Annabeth's eyes all at once. Confusion, happiness, and love.

Her face lit up with a smile and and she pulled me up into a hug. I hesitantly wrapped my arms around her. She hadn't yet given me an answer.

Then she whispered in my ear. " Did you doubt I would say yes?" She chuckled. "Yes Seaweed Brain of course I'll marry you!"

I pulled her tighter against me and twirled her in the air and then set her down so I could show her the ring.

I pulled the ring out of my back pocket and watched her eyes light up as I slid it onto her finger.

"Percy it's beautiful!" She exclaimed pulling me into another hug.

"Just like you." I whispered in her ear. I felt her cheeks get hot and I smiled.

Grover stood in front of us as we held hands. Hazel stood off to the side looking like she was going to cry and many of our other friends and classmates had gathered around to watch as well.

"Do you Percy Jackson promise to love and be best friends with Annabeth forever?" Grover asked me.

I smiled and looked into Annabeth's eyes, I had never been more sure of anything.

"I do."

"And do you Annabeth Chase promise to love and be best friends with Percy forever?"

She squeezed my hands and gave me a big smile.

"I do." She said. I grinned from ear to ear.

"Then I pronounce you man and wife, you may now kiss the bride!!" Grover shouted happily.

I had only ever kissed Annabeth on the cheek before but I guess there has to be a first time for everything.

I brought Annabeth close to me and gave her a short peck on the lips. We blushed as everyone erupted into cheers around us. We walked through the crowd and heard the bell ring. I gave Annabeth one last kiss one cheek and then we raced to class. She won of course.

After school got out, I grabbed Annabeth's hand and we waited in the parking lot for our parents to pick us up.

A few minutes later I saw my mom and Annabeth's mom walking towards us. We  both broke apart to hug our moms but after saying our greetings we held hands once again, much to my delight.

I saw a look of confusion pass through our moms and they looked at our hands.

"Annabeth what's that on your finger?" Her mom asked and pointed to her hand.

"It's my wedding ring." She stated like it was the most obvious thing in the world. I smiled.

"Your what?!" Athena and my mom ask at the same time. Both of them looking very confused and shocked.

"My wedding ring, me and Percy got married today at recess." She smiled and gave my hand a squeeze.

Athena looked lost in her thoughts but my mom started lightly laughing next to her, a smile spreading across her face.

"Whose idea was this?" Athena spoke up, slowly coming out of her stupor.

"Mine, but Annabeth agreed, it's what we both wanted." I said wrapping an arm around Annabeth's waist and bringing her close to my side.

My mom put a hand on Athena's shoulder. "Athena their happy, and their best friends, its natural for things like this to happen." My mom smiled down at us fondly.

Athena sighed. "I guess your right Sally." My mom chuckled.

"Well are you two newlyweds ready to go home?" My mom beamed.

We nodded. I knew that Annabeth couldn't come home with me but I left her with a kiss on her cheek and a hug, promising that I would see her tomorrow and every day after that.

The next day I begged my mom to buy us long range walkie talkies so we could talk at night from our houses. Annabeth only lived a few streets over from me, so I figured they would work. Sufficed to say, from that day on I fell asleep every night listening to Annabeth's voice. I couldn't ask for anything more.
