Percy's POV:
After spending the day with Annabeth, I loved saying her name, I couldn't believe how close I still felt to her after all this time. We had both changed so much but we were still the same. We were best friends and I never wanted that to change, well maybe, but I doubted she felt the same. We did after all just reconnect. I decided to try and forget about it for the moment.
Some memories were still a little hazy though, especially the night of the fire. I felt like there was this huge chunk missing from my memory. I remember going to look for Annabeth and her calling out but that was it until we were going down the stairs. What happened between those moments. I felt like I was going nuts. Annabeth said that she found me in the hall and then followed me down the stairs, but my memory is mostly blank there. Is she lying? Even if she was I decided it wasn't best to press her about it. It was a bad night for the both of us.
That night when I went home I resisted the urge to confront my parents and tell them what happened. I was angry by what they did. I understood why they did it but Annabeth was my world and they took that from me.
I limited my contact with them that night and when I did talk to them I put on my best poker face. Annabeth was right, maybe its best they don't know. I was not about to stop seeing her again, ever again.

The next day at school I met Annabeth's new friends and got to see Hazel again. After remembering Annabeth yesterday I had began to remember the time we spent with her and Grover when we were kids. Annabeth had also told me a bit about her new friends.
I saw Annabeth at her locker with her friends surrounding her and I stood frozen watching her.
She seemed to be glowing with happiness. She laughed at something a curly haired boy said, that I can only imagine is Leo. Her smile lit up her face and she looked beautiful. Her wavy curls cascaded down her back and her eyes sparkled. To me she looked like Aphrodite herself. My angel.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when she glanced in my direction and our eyes connected. She smiled brighter and I found myself grinning too. We stared at each other for a few moments before Annabeth rolled her eyes playfully and waved at me to come join her and her friends.
I did as she motioned. I made my way to stand beside her and wrapped my arm around her waist, giving her a quick side hug before letting her go.
I saw Hazel raise her eyebrows in shock. Annabeth had told me that Hazel knew I was awake but not that I remembered Annabeth or her.
I gave her a smile. "Hey Hazel." I said cheerfully.
"Hey yourself!" She said happily and stepped forward to give me a hug. I hugged her back and then proceeded to get a look/ glare from a tall Asian boy who I assumed was Frank. I remembered Annabeth telling me that Frank liked Hazel and then the look made sense. I laughed a little against myself as we backed out of the hug.
Annabeth laced her arm through mine and then Franks gaze softened into a look of confusion.
"Everybody this is Percy. He's my best friend from my childhood and he went to elementary and middle school with me, Hazel, and Grover. He just transferred here this year." Annabeth announced.
I gave them all a polite smile as a look of understanding passed through them.
"Hi guys" I waved.
They all smiled at me and one at a time introduced themselves. Grover wasn't there, apparently he had gone on some environmental trip. I was sad to not see him but I decided that I would just call him and tell him what happened.
