Percy's POV:

I felt trapped. Everyday I would walk through my mind like a lost dog trying to find my way home. I heard voices often but I didn't know who they belonged to or how I could hear them. I couldn't tell how time was going by but I went through periods of total darkness to walking through white halls, to walking in a meadow that stretched for as far as the eye could see.

One time as I found myself exploring the meadow, a girl appeared in front of me, but I only saw the back of her head, her face was facing away from me. She a had long honey blonde curls that cascaded down her back and I found myself expecting her to be a princess. Her skin was tan and she wore a long thin white dress, almost like a Greek dress. She had a slim figure, but seemed strong. She brushed her fingers along the tops of the grass as she slowly walked away from me.

"Wait!" I called out. "What's your name?!" I shouted.

I started walking quickly to try and catch up with her, but she seemed to get only farther from me.

I finally ran as fast as I could and was now a few paces behind her. I reached for her hand to pull her around but she didn't turn around.

"Seaweed Brain wake up." She whispered as she squeezed my hand. Then I heard another voice shouting.

"Fight it Percy, fight it!"

The girl pulled me with her and a lake appeared before us and she walked us into it.

"Focus." She said. "Focus on opening your eyes, you wont drown, I promise." Her voice was angelic and soft. I did as she said.

I tried my hardest to open my eyes, I put all the force I had into it and then my mind went blank.

Then my eyes open and I can see. I can see! I'm awake! I began to cough and choke, having to try and teach myself how to breath consciously again.

I'm surrounded by what I think are doctors and nurses, but at the moment I'm not sure of anything. My breathing settles finally.

"Son, do you know where you are?" a middle age man in a white coat asks me, who I presumed was a doctor.

"A hospital?" I croaked out. My vocal chords feeling so raw.

"Yes, you are at a hospital." He said as he gave me a small smile.

"Can you tell me your name?" He asked.

"Percy Jackson." I said on reflex, at least I knew one thing.

"Very good!" He exclaimed, looking very pleased.

"Can you tell me your parents names?" He asked.

I wracked my brain for an answer. Some images flashed in my mind, but I ultimately came up empty.

"No, sorry I cant remember, I can't remember anything. I only have a few images." I said bluntly. I rubbed my head feeling like a headache was about to set in.

I felt drained. I'd been out so long but I still felt so tired.

I met my parents awhile later.

My mother had long brown hair, warm brown eyes, and little smile wrinkles that gave me comfort because it meant she was a kind and caring women.

My father had jet-black hair like mine and we shared the same sea green eyes. He was a loving man and I felt at peace with him and my mother in the room.

They kissed my forehead and held my hands. Promising to always be here for me even if I never remembered them. I felt a rush of love in my heart and I cursed my brain for not remembering my memories with my parents.

I spent hours asking them question after question.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had already come to love my parents and some little memories of them started to float through my brain, but I felt like a was only seeing half of an image. Like there was someone else on the other half of the image. My mom was here with me. It was a couple weeks after I had woken up and I wanted to ask her if we had more family.

I thought back to the young girl who woke me up and then I knew what I wanted to ask.

"Mom?" I asked quietly.

"Yes honey?" She squeezed my hand from her spot in a chair next to my bed.

"Do I know a blonde girl? With bouncy princess curls, who's a little shorter than me?" I asked curiously, hopeful she would have an answer for me.

Her eyes flashed with a strong emotion, pain maybe?

"Why do you ask?" She smiled kindly.

"Before I woke up I saw a girl who looked like that, although I never saw her face. She held my hand and walked us into a lake. She called me Seaweed Brain and told me to wake up. She said to focus and she promised I wouldn't drown." I dreamily thought of her voice as I found myself feeling like she was here with me again.

My mom's eyes flashed with that emotion again and then she spoke.

"That's really strange because as far as I know we don't know anybody like that, Sorry honey. Maybe she was an angel."

"My angel" I murmured lowly to myself, although I had a feeling my mom heard.

She tried to smile at me but I knew she was hurting, she wasn't telling me something, but I decided not to press. Maybe she was protecting me in some way.
