The Winx suite. My home for the next few years. I opened the door to find what looked like a living room full of plants and light. It was a clean space which I liked about it because I expected something slightly dirtier with six girls living it in, although that could change within a few weeks. "Eira!" A short chubby girl grinned as she approached me at the door. I dropped my suitcase and greeted her.
"Terra, hi." I smiled. "I didn't know we were suite mates."
"This is going to be so much fun." The girl then told me as two other's exited their rooms. One was a girl with dark hair, wearing headphones. The other, was a dark skinned girl with a tall and athletic body.
"I'm Aisha." The second girl told me.
"And that's Musa." Terra added.
"I'm Eira." I said. "Would you mind pointing me in the direction of my room?"
"It's just through there." Aisha told me. I nodded and made my way to my room where Stella was standing talking to Bloom.

"I'm sure when I do I'll find something... to love." Stella said as she walked out of the room.
"Ignore her." I told Bloom. "That's what I do most of the time anyway."
"Oh, do you two know each other?"
"She used to date my friend." I explained. "I grew up near Alfea so we knew each other when we were little but for some reason we never got along. I tried, believe me. But Stella, if she doesn't think you're worth being her friend, you're not worthy."
"Gotcha." Bloom said with a thick American accent before she walked into the bathroom. I then shut myself in my room and placed my suitcase on the empty bed before I began to unpack.

When I got bored of unpacking I made my way to the pond where the Specialists train. I found Sky and Riven sparring and I approached them before sitting down on the grass. "How do you know she's crazy?" Sky asked Riven. "You haven't even met her."
"She's a ginge. They're all nuts." Riven replied. "Amazing shags though."
"Oh, you speak from experience?" I laughed.
"Yeah, I didn't realise your hand was a redhead." Sky added. They continued to spar as I watched them and they continued to do so until Riven fell to the floor. "You got slow this summer."
"He got high this summer." I said as I stood up and approached them. I help Riven to his feet and smiled.
"Really?" Sky questioned.
"Whatever big brother speech you're about to give me-"
"There's no speech."
"I don't want to hear it." Riven continued before looking at me. "Besides, it's not like I was doing it alone." I felt Sky frown as he looked at me.
"Hey, I was just the chaperone." I claimed as I put my arms up.
"Right-" He began.
"I thought there was no speech." I said.
"And anyways, a more productive use of your time would be to distract your aggro father figure so I don't get expelled." Riven told the boy.

Sky only smiled before he began to approach Mr Silva. The man who has been like a father to him ever since his dad died. I then picked up one of the swords Sky had been using when sparring Riven. "My turn?" I asked him.
"You're not a specialist. What do you know about fighting?"
"More than you might think." I grinned before we began to fight.

I ducked as Riven swung and our swords hit together before I moved mine down and tried to swoop his legs, Riven blocked me and I tried again but it was no use. The boy had floored me and as I groaned, he laughed. He then held his hand out to help me up but as I grabbed it, I pulled him down beside me. I laughed as Riven laid down and we looked up at the sky for several moments. "I wasn't joking earlier, you know." Riven told me.
"About what?" I asked.
"The thing about redheads."
"Give it a rest, Riv." I frowned. "It was a one time thing."
"I opened up to you this summer." Riven said. "I told you things I've never told anyone, not even Sky."
"You're my best friend." I told the boy. "I don't want anything to spoil that."
"What you mean to say is you're not over her are you?"
"I really don't want to talk about it." I admitted as I stood up.
"Eira, wait."
"No, I should go and get ready for the orientation party." I told the boy before walking off.

"Who actually saw the shepherd's body?" I heard Terra ask Musa and Aisha as I approached them at the party. "Maybe he was just old. People get old, die. We all die."
"That old age decapitation really sneaks up on you." Musa laughed.
"Who died?" I asked them.
"A shepherd. His body was found right outside the barrier." Terra told me. I then turned to Aisha who was grabbing more than several cookies.
"No judgement, but...?" Musa asked her.
"I eat a million calories a day." Aisha explained. "If I didn't swim, I'd be massive."
"I used to dance. I get it."
"On that note..." Terra frowned before walking away. I followed her and tapped her shoulder to gain her attention.

"Are you okay?" I asked her. "You're mood just changed all of a sudden."
"Yeah, it's just people talking about the way they look when I look like me." Terra said.
"There's nothing wrong with the way you look, Terra." I frowned.
"Easy for you to say when you look like that."
"I didn't always look like this, you know." I said. "I had red hair, glasses and this weird bump in the middle of my nose." Terra didn't say anything. "And now, even though I have none of those things, I'm still insecure about the way I look. No matter what we change, society is always going to find something else to point out as a flaw."
"But... you're gorgeous." Terra told me.
"And so are you." I smiled.

"I've missed that smile." Terra waved goodbye to me and walked off and I turned around to face Kenna. A second year student. She was also my ex girlfriend.
"I thought you didn't want to talk to me unless you had to." I told her.
"We're here. At a party together. Who's to say we can't be civil."
"No. You don't get to do that." I said. "You don't get to change the rules whenever they suit you. You don't get to tell me you never want to talk to me again and then start a conversation with me because you broke me this summer."
"And I'm sorry. I never wanted to hurt you."
"But you did, Kenna." I frowned. I looked across the room and noticed Sky talking to Stella and my fist clenched as I looked back at the girl in front of me.
"You know why we broke up."
"And I still think it's ridiculous. There is nothing going on there and you know it. It's just one of your sad, pathetic excuses."
"Eira!"

Sky was now standing behind me. His hands gripped onto each of my arms. "Maybe we should step outside and get some fresh air?" He suggested. I looked up at him and noticed the snowflakes falling from above me. The snowflakes I had created. I nodded and the not took my hand before leading me out of the party.
