Akira jumped off his majestic Pidgeot onto the smooth stone roads of Olivine City in the Johto Region. Glancing at the wooden dock connecting the clear ocean to the roads of Olivine City, Akira held out a Pokéball.

'Thanks Pidgeot, return.' The black-haired teen said, the Bird Pokémon was sucked back into the Pokéball.

Strapping Pidgeot's Pokéball back onto his Pokébelt, Akira walked towards the large crowd near the dock. Continuing on his way towards the boat, Akira's shoulder bumped someone's shoulder.

'Hey!' A gruff voice said from behind Akira. 'You bumped into me, you'll have to pay the price. Me, my mates, and the Ketchum kid beat Mewtwo before, you think you can even touch me?'

Not even bothering to look at where the voice came from, Akira scoffed. 'You think you can hold a candle to my flame, FERGUS? I did my research, and concluded you're nothing for me to be worried about.'

'Go Gyarados!' Fergus said, throwing out a Pokéball containing his Ace.

The Atrocious Pokémon roared, but Akira looked unfazed. The black-haired teen grabbed a Pokéball from his Pokébelt, pressing the button on the front.

'Bisharp, slice him into bits. Thunder Wave followed with Guillotine.' Akira commanded.

'Sharp.' Bisharp said, electricity flickering on his arm blades.

'No you don't! Gyarados, Hyper Beam and grind him to dust!' Fergus said, his Pokémon nodding before charging a beam of orange energy in his mouth.

'Easy.' Akira said. 'Bisharp, change of plans. Take the attack, then Guillotine.'

The electricity on the Sword Blade Pokémon's arm blades extinguished, as Bisharp took the Hyper Beam head on. Bisharp's head perked up as the dust from the impact started to clear.

'Bisharp...' Bisharp said, wiping the dust off his legs.

Glowing light blue, Bisharp's arm blades extended in length. Hidden by the dust, Bisharp slashed in an X-Shape, rushing past Gyarados. Immediately, the sea-serpent-like Pokémon collapsed, fainted from the powerful attack.

'Gyarados...' Fergus said, returning his Pokémon. 'You'll pay soon enough...'

Gritting his teeth, Fergus ran to the back of the crowd where his friends, Neesha and Corey were.

'Bisharp, return.' Akira said, his Pokémon sucked up into his Pokéball.

Akira didn't have to use his enhanced senses from his ninja and samurai training from when he traveled to Unova and Kalos before he became a trainer to feel the crowds behind shivering at his power.

'I could've made it easier and faster with Infernape or Rillaboom...' Akira mused, as the crowd's fear intensified.

The masked trainer stepped onto the S.S. Aqua, ready for the tournament.

Fergus, Neesha, and Corey looked at the masked man in front of them.

'Here is something you may have.' The masked man said. 'That is, if you help us.'

'We'll take it.' Fergus said determinedly, taking the bracelets and stones from the man's hand.

'Good. You may have these, and take these also.' The man tossed them the bracelets and stones, before holding out 3 Pokégear. 'We look forward to working with you.'

Captain A. Dewtmor walked down to the wooden dock connected to the roads of Olivine City. The man with dark blue hair and streaks of red mixed into his hair untied the rope connecting the big ferry to the wooden pillars hoisting the port above the ocean.
