The Painter and The Queen: Part 2

"Here is your room. I'll leave to get settled." Erie said, smiling as she opened the door to a large, luxurious bedroom

Amanda was in awe, this was half the size of her house, so this already was enough for her, she put her things away and smiled brightly again, thanking Erie happily

"If you need anything, just call me or one of the maid." Erie said, placing a quick kiss on Amanda's cheek as a friendly gesture before walking out, leaving Amanda alone in the large room

Amanda took out a piece of paper and started writing aggressively to her temperamental son- I mean best Friend, wrapping it in an envelope and putting a wax seal on it, giving it to an owl she trusted and watch it fly away

An hour later, one of the maids knocked on Amanda's door "My lady, it's time for dinner"

Amanda looked at her and nodded, and left the room

The maid led Amanda to the dining room, where a large feast had been set out

Amanda hadn't seen this much food much through out her life, the lest feast she had was when she was a painter for barbarians and Vikings- and yet she hadn't spent that much before

"Come, sit!" Erie said, motioning to an empty seat near her own

Amanda nodded, sitting there and looking around in awe

Erie smiled, the rest of Erie's court walking in and sitting down at the table. None of them were seated as close to Erie as Amanda was, and most of them seemed to be somewhat jealous of that fact. By seating Amanda so close, the queen was showing her favor towards the painter. The maids served everyone, the nobles and the queen starting to eat

Amanda starting to eat aswell, enjoying the meal

"So, how is the food?" Erie asked Amanda, seeming cheerful and happy

Amanda held a thumbs up and smiled happily at Erie, abit surprised at how the queen acted, usually had been depicted as some feared ruler by other kingdoms

A few dirty looks were thrown Amanda's way by some of the noble born court members. Erie noticed these looks and glared at the nobles to sent them, her happy demeanor disappearing immediately

Amanda didn't notice and only ate her food, staring out the window and daydreams her sorrow away

The nobles immediately looked away, and Erie's happy attitude returned

Amanda had finished her food, thanked for the meal and was about to leave to her room again

Erie finished eating as well, looking at Amanda "Do you want to go for a walk in the garden, or would you rather go back to your room?" Erie asked

Amanda picked the first one, smiling at Erie, she didn't really notice aura change in the room, not the stares she got for being close to their queen

"Follow me, then!" Erie said happily, grabbing Amanda's hand before dragging her to the garden

Amanda smiled and followed Erie, and was led to a beautiful garden

Erie walked through the garden, staying by Amanda's side "So... How's your day been?"

Amanda tapped on her pendant it making a hollow sound, and used Morse to tell her it was decent, and asked how she had been

"I've been pretty good. A bit lonely, but I'm sure that'll change eventually."

'Hm, how so?'

"I don't know. I just feel like I've met or will meet someone who will make me happy and treat me as an equal rather than some silly goddess."

Amanda check led, coming out at a breathing pattern and smiled at her warmly
'im sure it'll be soon'

Erie smiled and hugged Amanda "I think I've already met the person I'm talking about." The queen murmured

Amanda titled her head but shook it off right away, and sighed at the calm atmosphere

"You're warmm" Erie whispered, hugging Amanda tighter. Erie's skin was surprisingly cold

Amanda jumped a little and hugged Eire back happily,

Amanda was still hugging Eire, not question why this lady was as cold as a corpse

A noble man walked up to them, staring at Amanda and Erie for a moment. He then grabbed Amanda and violently yanked her away from Erie "What do you think you're doing?! It's against the rules to be touching the queen." He snapped at Amanda

Amanda didn't known how to respond, apologizing profusely to both of them and lowering her head confront of the noble man

Erie glared at the noble man, having half a mind to hit him "Listen, sir. I am the queen, and you have no right to be touching members of my court. I do not care what the rule says, I am human(That's a lie) and need affection just like the rest of you. That being said, if you lay even a single hand on this woman again I will have your head, am I understood?" Erie said, a dark aura surrounding her

Amanda popped her head up and stepped away from them both for a second, watching on the side lines

The man's face went pale, and he stared at Erie for a moment before bowing to her "Yes, my queen." He said shakily. Erie scowled "Get out of my sights. If I see you on the castle grounds again you will be sent to the dungeon." Erie said, and the man nodded and very quickly walked away

Amanda looked at him walk away, now knowing how Erie was feared and now was abit unsettled

Erie took a deep breath, the threatening aura disappearing. She turned to Amanda and hugged her, sighing "Sorry about that, Amanda"

Amanda nodded
'It's fine,  no need to apologise'

Erie sighed again, placing a quick kiss on Amanda's cheek "Do you want to go back to your room now or may we continue our walk?"

'we can continue our walk!'
Amanda's cheeks going a slight pink, but not enough to be seen

Erie smiled softly, letting go of Amanda before starting to walk again, making sure Amanda could keep up

Amanda followed Eire happily, looking up at the night sky, before being hit in the head with a fast flying owl
