"elizabeth grab those boxes over there and bring them over." my sister pointed in the direction of the boxes she was talking about.
i didn't say anything just simply walked over to the trunk, grabbed the boxes, and headed for apartment number 3.
we moved to reseda because my parents wanted me to go to a better school than the shit hole i was attending back in maine. they stayed back home because of their jobs.
"where do you want me to put them?" i yelled to my sister as i crossed the threshold.
"just over there." she pointed to a corner in the room.
this process of bringing boxes into the house little by little seemed to take forever. well there was only so many boxes two people could carry at a time.
i was bringing in the last of the boxes when i suddenly bumped into something rather hard, knocking me over.
"oh my god i'm so sorry!" a voice sounded behind me.
i looked up to see a tan boy looking back at me with his hand outstretched for me to take.
"no, it's totally fine. it was my fault anyways, i wasn't really paying attention." i spoke whilst taking the boys hand.
before i could bend down to grab the box that fell out of my hands, he got to it before me and handed it back to me.
"i'm miguel. uh miguel diaz." he introduced himself as he outstretched his hand once more for me to shake as an introduction.
"and i'm elizabeth nugent." i shook his hand as an introduction on my part.
"nice to meet you. i'm assuming you just moved here. judging by the boxes and everything. i moved here about three weeks ago with my mom and yaya." he explained.
"well then, you would assume correctly. i just moved here from maine with my sister lucy-blue. it's nice to make friends with someone on my first day here." i smiled, explaining my situation vaguely.
"um i can introduce you to someone else that lives here. he's my sensei. he was the first person i met when i moved here and he defended me at the strip mall he now owns a karate dojo at." miguel rambled on a bit about this mysterious sensei that just so happens to be one of my new neighbours.
"oh so you do karate. i lived near a dojo back in maine. the sensei there would come to different schools in the district and teach us some things. i always wanted to actually do karate but we never had enough money for it so i was never allowed to. i did cheering and gymnastics for a little while though." it was my turn to ramble.
"wouldn't cheering and gymnastics be more expensive?" miguel questioned me to which i just replied with a simple 'no'.
after we were done talking about ourselves to each other and asking questions, miguel insisted on introducing me to his sensei to which i didn't object. i would meet him sooner or later so it might as well be sooner.

"sensei!" miguel yelled as we entered an apartment across from miguel's.
"miguel!" a tall blonde man emerged from a hallway greeting my new friend. he had yet to notice me as he talked to miguel for a few seconds. when he did, he turned to look at me with a bit of confusion showing on his face.
"sensei this is our new neighbour, elizabeth, elizabeth this is sensei lawrence." sensei lawrence looked me up and down.
"you look like someone i'd date in high school." miguel gave him a look and the man just mouthed a 'what' back at the boy.
"well for you it's johnny... for right now it is. my dojo is wide open if you're up for it." the man told me, i could see a bit of a sparkle in his eye when he mentioned his dojo.
"maybe i will join, maybe i won't." i said with a smile, putting more emphasis on the word will to signify that i'm not opposed to it. with that he just smiled, probably at the thought that he would have another student at his dojo.
A/N sorry if this sucked. it's my first time writing anything like this really. i hope you liked it. i will try to update as much as i can. i'm very busy with school and just everything but we don't need to go into that lol. i really hope you enjoy this story! :,)
