You groaned and pulled the covers over your head as you heard the loud cries cover the whole house. You felt your husband, Justin, stir in the bed beside you.

3:23 a.m.

Sighing, you stood up and walked over to your newborn baby’s room. Four months ago, you gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named y/d/n, and she was the apple of your eye. She had a light skin tone, thick, curly hair, and Justin's gorgeous hazel eyes.

When you got to the crib, you reached your arms out, grabbed her, and cradled her in your arms. You started slowly walking around the room, bouncing ever so lightly in an attempt to silence her cries.

“I think she’s hungry.” Justin sleep filled voice sounded from the door. Turning to look at him, you saw him half asleep, leaning against the wall for support. His hair was disheveled and only one of his eyes open. “I’ll go make her a bottle.”

“No,” You called out, “I’ll go do it.”

He was practically still asleep and any how he tried to make it down the stairs he was gonna fall flat on his face.

“If you insist.” Justin approached you and gently took y/d/n from you.

You slowly made your way down the stairs being careful not to trip over yourself. You turned on the kitchen light, grabbed a pre-made bottle from the fridge, and stuck it in the bottle warmer.

You yawned as you made my way back up the stairs with the bottle. As you passed a mirror in the hallway, you stopped to look at your reflection. You knew it had only been a couple months since giving birth, but you were itching to back down to normal size.

You smiled as you remembered the day Justin caught you staring at your baby weight in the mirror. You told him how you were going to start exercising again to be able to fit in all your old clothes again and look beautiful.

You remember how he stopped you mid-sentence and told you that you were were beautiful before and that you were more beautiful now. You asked him how he thought so when you had gained almost 20 pounds.

“Because the extra weight you carry if from bringing the most beautiful child into this world and I could never thank you enough for that. You were beautiful before and you’re even more beautiful now that you have given me a child.” He answered.

Snapping out of your daze, you realized the crying had now finally stopped. You exhaled in relief as you made your way quietly to the room. You were about to walk in when Justin started singing and it instantly warmed your heart.

“You are my sunshine

My only sunshine,

You make me happy

When skies are gray,

You’ll never know dear

How much I love you,

Please don’t take my

Sunshine away.”

sorry this is short (and (maybe) boring.)
