Professor Blanc's office was neatly organized; on her desk was only one photograph. Kyrah immediately knew that this was Christopher Blanc. He had a handsome face, though a bit scarred, and he had the same gloomy look that Remus sometimes had about him.
Professor Blanc handed her a mug of Butterbeer and returned to her seat behind the desk. She slightly frowned as she read through the extract Kyrah had shoved in her face earlier.
"Kyrah, where did you find this?" Kyrah took a sip from her mug, feeling the anger boiling up inside of her, was this the time to worry about where she found this? Didn't it matter more that she needed answers about her mother? About why her 'aunt' had attacked her? About her own freaking mother and father?
"I don't know, Cole gave it to me, but I doubt that he was the one who found it." Kyrah replied.
Professor Blanc stared at her and sighed heavily into her mug, "I'll answer your questions Kyrah, but only three, the calmer you feel, the less Evangeline can track you. She's drawn towards you for some reason, and I'm afraid that another duel with her will not be advisable for me." She gently placed her empty cup upon the table, "So ask Kyrah, you have only three questions. So ask wisely."
Kyrah took her time to formulate the questions, three wasn't a magnificent amount to get all the answers she needed, but maybe if she could ask Professor Blanc why Evangeline was attracted to her, wanted her maybe then she could find closure about why her other aunt was hateful towards her.
Kyrah looked up into Professor Blanc's blue eyes, "Tell me about my mother." Professor Blanc looked at her imploringly, calculating her answer
"One thing you must understand Kyrah was that your grandfather was a very powerful wizard. Not only a wizard but the last pure-blood Veela of our line. My sisters and I worked for him for years on end and Evangeline was as evil as my father, but none was as evil as Gillert Gindelwald."
She seemed to be further away than just across the table, "Gillert came to my dad seeking the Wand of Destiny, a wand so powerful yet lost to the world, my father knowing Gillert knew that he must find this wand first or suffer at the hand of Gillert. So he send forth Evangeline and Angeline to seek the wand, whilst Gillert was still learning from him the many languages of magical creatures." She sighed and her eyes seemed wet with unshed tears.
"But neither could find it, except Angeline... She had found something... or rather someone, you see she had fallen in love, with an ordinary wizard with no absolute no Veela descendants. Knowing our father would disapprove she ran off with him and bestowed upon him the knowledge of where the wand was rumored to be." Tears were running down her cheeks now.
"My father was angered by my sister's betrayal that he send forth Evangeline to rid our family name of my sister's dishonor, but upon finding Angeline, Evangeline heard a baby cry..." she broke off crying in earnest mumbling inaudibly.
"It was you Kyrah. Knowing that you would be a danger to our father she tried to kill you but your mother fought her and then she disappeared to the only family whom my father loathed and thought Angeline would never go to, the Blacks." The tears were streaming noiselessly down her cheeks as she stared at Kyrah with the familiar brilliant blue eyes.
"I don't get it. Why would I be a threat to a Pure-blood Veela?" Kyrah asked.
Liana gave her a sad smile before answering, "The one question you now ask is the only one I can't answer, not now at least Kyrah."
Feeling her blood starting to boil Kyrah averted her glare, tears fresh in her eyes. "Tell me dammit I need to know!" Kyrah said loudly.
"You are a most frightening weapon; due to your half-blood status, not only that but because of your mother being the eldest Moon Child... You cannot always control your magic, which makes you a ticking time bomb. You have the blood of ancient Veela inside you, being more powerful than your father nor mine might ever have dreamed of. Having your mother's blood inside you, you have inherited her power of internal youth but above all you have gained two other abilities you have yet not discovered. Like Evangeline and myself, you might have the power of destruction and possibly the sight. There are other powers as well, but I cannot start to imagine what they are."
Kyrah stared at her Professor in astonishment her mouth agape, "One question left Kyrah, and then I must bid you goodnight." She said.
Biting her tongue she asked the one question that was bothering her the most, "Do... do you know who my father is?" Kyrah asked her.
Professor Blanc smiled sadly at Kyrah before she replied, "Angeline... Your mother had the power of eternal youth. It is my believe that she was never tortured by Gillert, but that they conceived you, giving you the power unnatural abilities to perform magic without a wand. I think that your mother knew that our father would've used you as a weapon to reclaim his throne as the Veela King..."
Kyrah stared at her in shock, "But Professor..." but she started to say but was cut short as Professor Blanc got up from the table and walked towards the office door.
"Now Kyrah return to your common room and trust no one." She then shooed Kyrah out, but before closing the door she whispered, "and Kyrah." Kyrah turned around to look at her hopefully.
"Yes?" She gave a faint smile even though her mind was racing wildly. It explained why Aunt Willa hated discussing her father. Hadn't Sirius once said that Gillert had killed his grandfather because they had a small spat?
"Give Cole a chance, will you? He seems like he genuinely cares about your safety."
With that she closed the door behind her, leaving Kyrah stuck with many more questions and a dreaded feeling about her own family being worse than Sirius's.
Walking back towards the common room Kyrah went over what she just learned, it made sense not going outside and yelling that her father was the well-known Gillert Gindelwald, but he wasn't really a threat in Britain so she couldn't understand why nobody knew that he had a daughter, well obviously she was just as dim-witted as the rest Wizarding World about this.
Kyrah wondered if Aunt Willa knew, that would explain why she disliked talking about Kyrah's father, though Gillert was into dark arts which should've pleased her, as she was contemplating all this inside her head she hardly looked where she was going and walksed smack into somebody. Trying to regain her balance and looking up she looked into Cole's eyes.
"Hi." He muttered and she gave him a smile, "Sorry didn't see you."
He gave her a small wink and she felt her hear missing a beat, "You're too absorbed in that little head of yours Swanson." He said.
Kyrah couldn't help the smile that spread across her face, "Reading minds again Moriarty?" because at that moment she knew that not everybody knew that Cole was an accomplished Legilimens.
He gave her a smile, "Returning to the dorm?" and together they walked back towards the Slytherin common room. Suddenly united as friends.
