Cole sat across from Kyrah, looking at her as she paged through one of the Divination books that he had brought from the library. She was only eleven but going through so much, he thought and he wonder what the prophecy was about.
Kyrah looked up and caught him staring, "You okay?" She asked Cole and smiled, he smiled back at her - the smile that he used on countless of other girls and drove them to blush insanely.
"Yeah, I'm great." he replied.
She closed the book and yawned stretching herself, "How about you?" she asked Beatrice who was sprawled on the rug near the hearth and lazily paged through another book.
"Doubt that we'll ever find anything in here." Beatrice replied, "I don't think they'll have written the prophecy down... Probably have some kind of recording device hidden in a secret room so that nobody will accidentally find it..."
Kyrah stared at her, "That doesn't sound crazy at all...."
Cole started laughing, "Does make sense though..." he said, but when he saw Kyrah was now frowning at him he retorted, "The part about it not going to be in a book!"
Kyrah got up and yawned again before saying, "Well, good night you two." With that she walked upstairs, her perfect blond hair bouncing slightly. Cole was angry at himself for ever thinking that something like that would be in a book, he was still staring at the door Kyrah had disappeared through when a small cough reminded him that Beatrice was still there with him.
He noticed Trixie watching him, she had a smug smile n her face as though she could read his mind or something.
"What?" he asked but he could feel his face burning.
She broke into a huge grin, "I know you like her." she said.
"I don't know what you're talking about," he retorted but averted his eyes down to the book in his lap, he was on the same page he was about a half hour ago.
"So why are you blushing then?" Beatrice teased, Cole closed the book and got up. His face was bright red as he passed by Beatrice.
"Don't be stupid she's eleven." he replied but before she could say anything more he quickly added, "Good Night, Beatrice." And with that he left her there in the common room looking stunned by his answer. As he opened the door towards the boys' dormitories he could hear Beatrice giving a loud snort as though she thought he was lying.
-----
As the exams started, and the two girls were were both in their first year Cole hardly saw them. The two girls were now regulars in the library studying, which was odd since neither of them really liked the library that much.
Cole was at a table just a few tables away from Kyrah and Beatrice studying with his fellow third year. He was now staring at her, noticing that Kyrah was sharing a table with a Ravenclaw boy, the two's heads were close together and they were whispering excitedly. Cole frowned down at his open book, why was he feeling so jealous about Kyrah talking to a boy in her year?
Beatrice slammed a book down next to him before sitting down, "Not jealous are you?" she asked teasingly noticing that he looked up at Kyrah ever few seconds.
Cole looked back over at Beatrice, "No," he said sounding as jealous as he felt, "I don't know why you keep thinking that I like her, she's my friend..."
