An Unlikely Love

Chapter 7 - Marie's Pov:

Marie didn't know why she hadn't left yet. She didn't want anything to do with Loki or Thor, she wanted to make sure Binx was okay.
"Stay right here" Thor looked at her with his eyebrows reaching towards his hairline. Marie slowly nodded, she wanted to go back to her rooftop with Binx, but she didn't want to find out what would happen if she didn't listen to Thor. Marie looked down at Binx and examined her paws where the rope had been, where bloody red circles were there had once been beautiful cloud white fur. Marie looked up at Loki in anger but was surprised to find him standing next to Thor with one hand on what looked to be the handle of Thor's famous lighting hammer. Where had that come from? It wasn't there a moment ago. Thor looked over at her,
"Come on, you're coming with us." Thor said. Marie looked at the Two men in annoyance "when will they ask what i want?" she thought as she walked over to Thor. Thor wrapped his arm around her waist and launched them into the sky,
"MEAAA-OF" Binx yowled and squirmed in Maries grasp, MArie scrambled to fix her hold on Binx to that binx was on her back with her paws up like a baby
"It's okay Binx. I'm right here, I won't let you fall" Marie said hurriedly trying to calm the cat down. Loki looked down at her with a mix of confusion and amusement, Marie looked back at him angrily, resisting the urge to kick him in mid-air. Looking around her Marie realized that they were heading to the Avengers tower, she could see it in the distance. "Oh great, this should be fun" she thought sarcastically there was another reason she hadn't wanted Loki to tell Thor about her powers. It had everything to do with someone in that Tower. As Thor landed on the roof of Avengers tower Marie prepared herself for what was about to unfold.
"What did Reindeer games do this time?" Marie looked to the source of the question and saw Tony Stark walking towards them sunglasses on and looking at Thor. at the sound of his voice Binx meowed and twisted i'm Maries arms licking her cheek and purring loudly. As if noticing her for the first time Stark looked at Marie.
"Who's this Thor? Didn't we talk about not bringing civilians to the tower?" Tony asked
"Well, I was walking up to Loki's house and she ran out, I still don't really know what happened." Thor said
"I'll tell you what happened." Marie said angrily
"Go for it kid" Stark told her
"I broke into his Kitchen to get food for me and Binx, he caught me but I got away and went to my home. After I had been home for a couple hours I felt like I was being watched, so I put Binx in the tent and asked who was there. Next thing I know I'm tied to a chair inside a shed and Loki is talking about how I am going to be punished for stealing from a god. I saw that he had tied up Binx and I asked him to let her go, instead he told me that she was part of his game and almost killed her before I untied myself, grabbed Binx and ran out. I didn't really know where I was, only that I was in Loki's back yard so I ran into his house not really knowing what I was doing, I found the front door and ran into Thor, I guess you guys know the rest." Marie told them, she was close to tears, sensing that she was stressed, Stark looked at her gently, "Okay tell you what, come inside with me and let's get you cleaned up. I can have bruce take a look at your cat and we can sort this out."
"Okay..." Marie said reluctantly still not trusting Thor or Stark, Marie looked at her cat as if she could tell her what she needed to do Binx looked at her and Meowed gently, as if telling her it was okay. Hesitantly Marie followed Stark through the door and away from the roof.
"Do you have a place to stay?" stark asked her
"Yes"
"Where?" Tony pressed
"A rooftop across the street from a Vinyl store and a Dairy Queen'' she said sassily, while looking down at her cat. After a couple of seconds of silence she looked up at Tony to see his reaction. He was looking at her with a mix of horror and disgust, and Pity.
"DOn't look at me like that" she said angrily "i've been on my own since i was sixteen, It's not like I live on a roof for fun."
"You're telling me that you had no family to stay with when you were sixteen?" Stark asked in disbelief "surely there could have been someone you could have stayed with, what happened to your parents?" he asked
"My Parents...?" she said suddenly really sad, stressed and scared "I-I don't want to talk about that. And no there was one person but...no. It's just me and Binx" she said nodding her head at her cat "we look after eachother, we are family. It works that way." she said
"Kid, do you want to stay here? We have an extra room, plus it's almost winter, i hate to think of you freezing up on a rooftop" he said
"Sure, why not? Now can we please go to thins bruce person and have him look at Binx, i don't want her paws to get infected or anything" Marie asked concerned for her cat
"Right this way kid" said Tony as he lead her down the hall
