"We're in love!" Louis shouted, the moment he stepped foot in the house he shared with Liam and Zayn. Harry chuckled beside him, waiting for the onslaught of questions they were about to receive due to Louis' unexpected outburst.
"What are you screaming about?" Zayn asked, making his way into the hallway, Liam following closely behind.
"Louis told me he loved me," Harry replied, smiling down at the beautiful boy next to him, "and I love him too." For a second, Harry got lost in Louis' eyes. That was until he was attacked by four arms engulfing the two boys, congratulating them.
"It was only a matter of time," Liam explained, stepping back to let Louis and Harry breathe. "You two are just made for each other."
"Yeah," Zayn added, turning his back, and walking into the living room. "You're both as crazy as each other!" Louis gasped, instantly running towards Zayn, jumping on his back.
"Take that back or I'll ruin your hair!" Louis exclaimed, holding on as Zayn laughed and tried to wiggle Louis off him.
"You wouldn't dare!"
"Is that a risk you're willing to take, Malik?" Louis moved his hand up, placing it onto Zayn's neat quiff. Harry heard Zayn gasp when he realised Louis wasn't joking.
"Fine, fine, I apologise! You're both perfectly normal!" Louis cheered and jumped off Zayn's back, walking back over to Harry who was standing in the living room doorway.
"Are you not staying?" Louis asked, pushing his bottom lip out as he looked up at Harry.
"Not tonight, baby. I promised Niall I'd spend tomorrow with him; it is the anniversary after all." Louis nodded, standing on his tip toes to gently kiss Harry's rosy cheek.
"Okay, well, I'll miss you. Tell Ni we're here if he needs anything." Harry smiled softly, thanking Louis for a lovely night before he made his way out of the front door. "Good night, Haz!" Louis called from the front step, waving as Harry opened his car door. He got inside, opening his window as he started the engine.
"I love you, Lou!" Harry called back, watching fondly as Louis grinned and told him he loved him too.
When Harry woke up the next morning, he could hear the crashing of pots and pans coming from the kitchen. He rolled over, glancing at the alarm clock that was staring him in the face. 07.22. He dragged himself up, pulling on a pair of grey sweatpants and made his way to the kitchen. "Niall, what are you doing?" Harry mumbled, running a hand through his knotted curls.
"I'm making breakfast, do you want anything?" Niall chirped, loudly placing a frying pan onto the hob.
"It not even 07.30, and you never cook?" Harry questioned, leaning against the counter to keep himself steady. He was so tired. Niall was facing the cooker, his blonde hair pointing in every direction possible.
"Yeah, well, I just thought I'd give it a go." Harry could tell there was something Niall wasn't telling him. He knew what day it was, after all.
"Niall, please put the pans down. It's too early to be making this much noise. Let's just go back to bed and I'll make breakfast in a few hours, deal?" Harry asked, placing his hand on Niall's shoulder.
"I don't want to sleep, Harry," Niall whispered, his happy façade suddenly dropping. "I lay in bed and I can see that moment over and over again." Niall slowly turned around, and Harry saw the first tear slide down his cheek. He pulled the blonde boy towards him, wrapping his arms around his shoulders and letting him cry into his chest. After a few minutes, Harry leaned back, looking Niall in the eyes.
"How about we get into my bed and put on a film. That way, if you fall asleep, you won't be alone?" Niall nodded, following Harry as they climbed into his double bed. Niall rested his head on Harry's chest as they chose a film. Harry could feel Niall's tears soaking into his shirt, but he didn't care, he just wanted to look after his friend. It didn't take long for Niall to fall back asleep, and shortly after Harry closed his eyes and let himself drift off too.
