When people say at least it can't get any worse I want to hit them, because it can, it can get a lot worse, it can! You don't control the world, the things people say, what they do, how they feel. Even if you could what's to keep the people doing what you want them to do, keep them being your slaves, keep them from rebellion, keep them from being angry.
She sat there thinking in sadness, she couldn't sleep last night in fear of the punishment of her crimes. The sun was just rising and the birds weren't even awake and singing yet.
The porch swing had little creeky noises and the breeze sang with the song of beauty. The air smelled of cut grass, and chemicals you would find in a pool. The farm she had lived on her whole life seemed so alive, so full of life and hapiness and of life. The world at the moment seemed at rest, seemed peaceful seemed like everyone was OK.
The light gracefully peaked through the clouds and made the world look like you were looking from it from the inside of a lava lamp. Bright pink everywhere, with streaks of gold light.
She watched as the night sky's brightened and the colors soon all turned into one bright yellow, letting the colors of the earth show. She watched as a silver jeep pulled into the driveway.
"Daddy" she said and ran over to the car as it came to a stop.
"Hey kitten, I need you to go in and pack a bag in and pack everything you will need for a week..... And anything you can't live without." He said wit a serious look on his face, pushing her up the stairs of the house.
"Daddy what's going on." She asked with a curiosity on the tip of her tounge.
"Kitten were just going on a trip, well be back adventully I promise." He said holding out his hand to gesture her up the stairs.
She ran up the stairs and grabbed her sleepover bag from under her bed. She through shirts and pants and shorts in there. She packed as if they were going on vacation includuding things like her swim suit and flip flops.
When her bag could no longer fit anything in it she started on a new bag. This one filled with her stuffed animals and her crayons with a coloring book.
She took her stuff and ran down the stairs, "what now?" She asked.
"Go put it in the car and then come back in and gab your pillow and blanket." He said and continued throughout things around that he thought he would need.
She ran her stuff to the car and through it into the trunk, there were already two bags out there from things her father had already thrown in there. She quicky went back inside and to her room where she grabbed her pillow and blanket along with her treasure that she stuffed into her pillow case. She took the things down the stairs where her father was waiting by the door, holding it open waiting for her to run through so he could lock up.
"Quickly kitten we need to hurry quickly." He said and almost pushed her out the door making her stumble and almost fall. "Now is not the time to go slow you must pick up your feet and walk we don't have all day." He said pushing her even her harder this time causing her to fall down the stairs on the porch.
She started to cry, her legs were scratched, her head was bleeding, and her hand were scraped, from her trying to catch her fall. "Just a little scrape well clean you up in the car." He said pulling her to her feet by her overalls, and then when she almost fell again he grabbed the back of her overalls and dragged her to the car. He attempted to grab the pillow that she had been holding but she wouldn't let go and started screaming no. "Fine, you want to be a baby be a baby now get in the back and buckle up." He said throwing her blanket onto the floor and yanking the car door open before going around to the drivers seat.
She got into the car and dragged her blanket in and her pillow setting them in her reach, having them there making her feel safer.
He drove the car slowly just a mile or so under the speed liment, making sure to completely stop at stop signs. He controlled his road rage. Didn't scream at any car, flip anyone off, or even honk his horn. He drove on side roads, only driving on a main road for a minute or so.
"Daddy where are we going?" She asked.
"Were going to pick up Jessie and then we are going to go on a vacation, you like vacation don't you?" He said, smiling back at her for a second ten looking back at the road.
"What about school daddy, my teacher said I can't be late anymore and that means I must attend every class."
He stopped in front of a small house and unbuckled his seat belt. "Your teacher changed her mind she said that you were working to hard and deserved a brake."
"But daddy she said I was below grade level and needed to work harder."
"Listen were going on vacation and that's the end of it." He said in a harsh tone and her eyes started to water. "Listen kitten vacations are fun and this will be fun, just the three of us driving and having a good time at all our stops, I promise a good time." He said before telling her he was going to go get Jessie and so I need to stay in the car.
He walked away in his half run half walk, he was in a hurry and was back out with Jessie in what seemed like a minute. He was carrying two full sized suitcases and Jessie was carrying her purse and another suitcase. He set the things behind the car before taking the other bag from Jessie and then set it down before running around to open Jessie's door and then he returned to put her stuff in the trunk. But with the amount of stuff she had there wasn't enough room so all the stuff was taken out and reput in leaving Riley's stuff with no place to go but the seat next to her.
"Hi Riley how are you doing today, are you excited for vacation?" Jessie asked her.
"Where are we going?" Riley asked to receive no response, and then Ethan got into the car, and that's when the show began.
"Honey why does she hate me so much." Jessie said and the water works started. Jessie was the type of person who likes watching others getting yelled at, who likes watching others miserable, she treats it like a game. "All I want is for us to be a happy family." She said and started balling her eyes out.
"Riley, you need to apoligize, Jessie is here to stay so you need to get along with her, or else." He said and that was all he needed to say "or else" was all he needed to get him to do whatever he wanted her to do.
"I'm sorrrry" Riley said with her voice shaking, "I really didn't mean to do it I'm sorry." She said about to start crying.
"Its ok, I want us to be really good friends Riley so we need to get along OK!" Jessie said to her. Jessie had two sides then caring forgiving side and the total psychopath, who wanted everything her way and wants to see the world suffer. She is only the kind one when Ethan can hear her, and the rest of the time, beware. She was as to faced as it could get and Ethan saw nothing but an angle inside.
From then on she was silent, said nothing, she knew whatever she said wouldn't change a thing she was still isn't good enough for what her father wanted from her, and Jessie would do whatever to make sure it stayed that way.
They kept driving and driving through farms and around cities. She sat there thinking of the past, the time she she was happy!
The time where she would be loved were she wouldn't be told by the ones she thought as her family as a mistake as a should have been a abortion!
