I open the door to see Harry looking down.

"Hey what's wrong?" I shut the door behind me so we don't wake Anna.

"I know what we did tonight was... Irresponsible of me. I can't have a girlfriend and I'm sticking to that."

"Why are you so against it?"

"Because I've seen the other guys in the band break so many girls' hearts just because of long distance. I don't want to do that to you."

"But what if we work? Why not try. I mean you don't think I'd be worth it?"

"What no of course I do I just- I'm still apprehensive."

"I understand but please. Let's do this."

"Okay."

...

The first semester went by pretty quickly and winter break was coming up at the end of the week. Harry announced that his band was going on tour with Ashton's band opening for them. They're leaving a little after the break. Harry and I have been together for five months now. Ashton and Anna got together not too long after us.

Ashton asked Anna to go with them on tour. She's supposed to talk to her parents over the break about going but I think she'll go no matter what they say. She plans on doing school online. Plus she's been taking a hair and makeup class so she'll actually be able to help out on the tour.
Harry hasn't asked me yet...
But maybe he will I don't know. My assignment this week is to take pictures of things I love then write an essay. I'm walking around the pond trying to take a good shot of the water. When I feel a tap on my shoulder.

"Mind if I join you?" Harry's standing over me. I rise up from my squatting position.

"Sure." He kisses me on the forehead and lets me finish my picture. That's when I get an idea. "Hey hold still."

"Uh why?"

"Just do it."

"Okay." He looks at me and smiles. His dimples showing. I snap a couple of pictures. He makes faces at me and I get those too. "Lemme see!" He stands next to me and I play back through the pictures. "Those are so good!"

"Thanks do you mind if I use them for my project?"

"Not at all." He laughs. "Hey I've been wanting to ask you something."

"Sure what's up?"

"Would you like to go on tour with us? You can do online classes and you can take pictures I can probably ensure that you get paid for your pictures too."

"Yes!" I jump into his arms. He finally asked! He swings me around.

"You still have to talk to your parents."

"Oh yeah. They'll probably let me go but they're going to want to meet you."

"Then I'll come home with you over the break. I'll visit my mom while we're on tour. It's our first stop actually."

"In London?"

"Yep!"

"Wow I've always wanted to go there. You'll have to show me around."

"Absolutely."

The next week was a little slower than normal but I think it was all the excitement of the break. I had packed up a good three weeks worth of clothes and I was excited to go home. Harry left his car at school so I drove us to my house. It was a two hour drive and I hadn't told my parents I was bringing someone with me. Oops.
We pull up to my house and the first word out of Harry's mouth is, "cozy."

"Yep. Grab your bags my mom's going to be excited to meet you." Of course I had told my mom about Harry but I kind of left out the whole he's in a band part. "Mom I'm home!"

Harry and I lay our bags in the hallway and we're greeted by my German Shepherd Lany. We pet him and I drag Harry into the living room. My mom was in the kitchen.

"Hey honey!" She pulls me into a hug. "You must be Harry I've heard so much about you!" She also gives him a good squeeze.

"It's nice to meet you too." He smiles.

"Hey Daphne!" My dad walks in from his office and pulls me into a hug.

"Dad this is Harry." Harry holds out his hand for a handshake.

"It's nice to meet you sir." He says as he shakes my dad's hand.

"You too." My dad smiles.

"So are you two hungry? I've just finished lunch." My mom asks.

"Oh yeah but I was wondering if we could take it to go. I thought we'd go to the beach." I ask her.

"Sure let me put it together for you."

I grab my bags and motion Harry to follow I take him upstairs to my room.  We set down our things and I pull my beach bag out of the closet. I put everything we need in it.

Harry pulls his trunks out of his suitcase. "Um you might want to change in the bathroom. Don't want my parents to..."

"Yeah no problem."  He leaves and closes the door behind him.

I open my bathing suit drawer and shuffle through its contents. I produce a white bikini top with palm trees on it and black bottoms to go with. I change quickly and throw my cover up on. Just as I finished there was a knock at the door.

"Come in." Harry opens the door sporting bright blue swim trunks and a snapback he must've grabbed on his way out. "You ready?"

"Yep!"

"Oh I almost forgot I have to text Anna she'll want to go. Did Ashton go home with her?"

"I'm not sure he might've gone home to Australia."

"Oh well I'll ask her."

I called Anna she just got home and yes Ashton is with her. They're leaving in a week to go to Australia. But today they're going to the beach with us.

"She said she'll meet us there."

I grab the bag and head downstairs. I give quick goodbyes to my parents and we leave. Its a half hour drive to the beach so I turn on the radio. On the radio is some band I've never heard of.

Harry starts laughing. I look at his confused. "What do you know this band or something? I've never heard of them."

Before he can answer me the radio host comes over. "That was One Direction."

"Oh my God that was your band!" I started dying laughing. "I didn't even recognize it!"

"Yep well now you've heard me sing." He chuckles.

"Pft like I haven't listened to your music before!" After Harry told me about his band I started listening to their music so I can hear him sing. But since he mentioned it, "Nope I want a live concert right here, right now."

He rolls his eyes. "What do you want me to sing?"

"Any of your songs I don't care."
I turned off the radio and he started singing. It was the first time I'd heard him sing with no instruments. I had to close my mouth and pay attention to the road because his voice was mesmerizing. I didn't recognize it but it said something about, 'little things.'

When he finished I cheered for him. "Whoo! That was amazing!"

He laughs, "I'd take that any day over a thousand screaming fans to just hear you say that."

I blush and turn the radio back on. A couple more songs play then we pull into the beach parking lot.
