Whenever Oikawa praised me I felt my heart skip a beat. „Where's even Iwa? What's taking him so long?" I asked and pushed myself off Tooru's lap in order to sit on the fluffy beanbag. Tooru just hummed softly and extended his right arm in order to place it onto my left thigh.

His veiny hands were big and warm. Since Tooru was the setter of his team he paid a lot of attention to his nails and filed them on a daily basis.

I heard the front door close and raised my eyebrows at the boy sitting next to me who was also startled by the sudden noise. I didn't know whether it was Hajime or someone else who had entered the room so I tensed up which Tooru of course had noticed.

He pushed himself off the beanbag and quietly told me to stay there while he opened the door in an inaudible way. I just gulped thickly and looked after him. Once the door closed behind him I started playing around with the hem of Iwa's sweater since I was nervous. Hajime's parents were out of town and he didn't have any siblings.

„Iwa-chan?" I heard Oikawa ask downstairs and this was my signal to leave the room. How was I supposed to sit still when someone or something was downstairs? I stood up and my eyes caught the wooden bat which was owned by Hajime and was resting next to his closet. After grabbing the weapon I opened the door with a soft creak and walked out.

My grip tightened on the bat as I walked towards the staircase with a slow and steady pace. I knew exactly how to produce as little noise as possible since I often snuck out of my house when it was night time. My father would never notice since he is always deep asleep in his room or in the living room.

You could say I already was experienced as I walked on certain spots of the wooden floor and made sure it wouldn't creak. Once I reached the staircase I looked down and saw an empty living room which was alarming for me and I recalled old memories I thought I had pushed aside.

I gulped down the non existent spit down and quietly took one step after another. Once I reached the end of the staircase I gently walked towards the kitchen and leant against the doorframe while deeply breathing in. Where the hell was Tooru?

I closed my eyes for a blink second but then opened them again in order to glance into the kitchen which was left empty as well, leaving me confused. I cussed under my breath and my eyes roamed everywhere but behind me when I felt someone's body heat radiate.

I sighed and yanked the bat around my body with so much force while closing my eyes. „FUCK YOU!" I heard someone yell and I opened my eyes to see Iwaizumi on the floor with his jacket in his left hand. He held his biceps with the other and had a painful expression plastered on his face. I immediately let the bat fall down onto the floor with a loud thud and hurried over to my best friend who was laying on the ground.

„Fuck oh my god I'm so sorry I thought you were an intruder Iwa!" I yelled with tears brimming in my eyes as memories rushed into my mind. My heartbeat quickened as I inspected my friend's arm. He just growled and shook his head. „It's okay oh fuck!"

He hissed in pain as he saw the purplish mark form onto his left arm. I couldn't properly process what was happening in front of me as I stood up and rushed into this kitchen in order to grab some ice. Once I returned I immediately crouched down and pressed the icy substance onto the bruise.

„I'm sorry Iwa so sorry I didn't know you oh god I'm sorry!" I was mumbling incoherent words as I panicked but Hajime had regained his composure as he rubbed his temple in an exhausted way. „I scared you. I'm sorry." He started apologising and I felt even worse as it wasn't his fault to begin with. I shook my head in a disapproving manner and sighed.

„What happened here?!" I heard Tooru yell as he stood at the front door with his eyebrows furrowed. He was probably outside searching for whatever he thought he was searching for. Iwaizumi and I exchanged a look before he parted his lips to explain the situation.
