Kadens pov

My heart is completely gone when I see Stormi fall lifeless against me. I hold her up and carry her bridal style upstairs. I wipe away her tears before wiping away mine before I get her changed into new underwear with sweats and put a bra on for her.

I pack her a suitcase with a few weeks worth of clothes, including a few pieces of clothing of mine and her essentials.

"Are you sure this is what you want to do?" Romeo asked leaning against the doorway.

I nod. "We don't know who is playing both sides. If they see that she is gone, maybe they will leave her alone until we can get this settled."

I watch as he rolls his eyes and folds his arms over his chest.

"I don't think you should let her go."

"It's not your decision. I'm doing what I can to protect her."

He scowls. "No your not! You are leaving her when she fucking needs you! For someone who doesn't want to lose her, your giving her the reason to walk away!"

Before I could blink, I had Romeo thrown against the wall. My hand wraps around his throat and I squeeze as my other hand is wrapped around my gun behind my back.

"You don't understand shit!" I scream in his face. "This is the only way to protect her! They are coming after her because of me!"

My voice betrays me as the words come out.

As much as I wanted Stormi, I never considered the danger I was putting her in.

I didn't even think about the consequences or the revenge others would do to Stormi... All because of me.

But it's not rivals.

It's not enemies.

It's her own 'family'.

I still haven't figured anything out about her past life her.

Last thing we could find out was the things at her house.

Jared can't find anything about anyone.

It's professionals. Deleting absolutely everything and everyone that has came across Stormi's path.

"You love Stormi to much to let her go. Leaving her alone isn't helping anyone especially not you. Atleast with her here, you can keep an eye on her. If she was anywhere else, you won't be able to focus because you are going to worry about her to much! You just got her. Are you really willing to let her go?" Romeo whispers as his face starts to turn a cherry red.

His words float around in the air like subtitles.

I let him go and slowly move my hand away from my gun.

My eyes linger to Stormi laying against the bed. Her cheeks are flushed and her breathing is so low, her chest is barely moving up and down.

I walk up to her and grab her hand as I sit on the bed.

I rub my thumb back and forth over her knuckles.
