“Grimmauld Place is not my home.” Draco resisted the urge to hold the hand lying close to his even though his eyes refused to let the sight of the face in front of him disappear even for a second.
“Damn true it isn't. Not even for me. But would you come with me if I asked you to?” Harry spoke.
“Not while you are ‘off your tits’, no.” Draco shook his head while he smiled at the man who had just sported a pout. “Just kidding, I have work tomorrow.”
“You can go to work from there.”
“No, I can't!” Draco protested. “I have my stuff back in my apartment. I need them.”
“Ah, just move in with me then!” Harry groaned at the ceiling. “You keep saying that and I never get time with you.”
“You come to mine then.” Draco suggested as his heart skyrocketed in his chest at Harry's unmindful words.
“I have to work as well.”
“See? It's not that easy.” Draco finally grabbed the hand almost taunting him from just a few inches away while sipping at one of Harry's drinks. “We both are very busy.”
With eyes planted on their joined hands, Harry pondered on the prominent veins on the back of their hands, rolling a few words on his tongue. “No one's going to give a care, you know.”
“To what?”
“If we moved in.” Harry said again, rubbing a thumb on the porcelain skin of Draco's hand.
Grazing on the edges of hyperventilation, Draco still gripped onto the logical side harder in fear of slipping into quicksand. He took a deep breath. “But what happens after a few months when we get used to each other?”
“We can take advices from Ron and Hermione.” Harry blew through his mouth that ruffled up a few bangs on Draco's face.
“You know what happens when we stick together for too long. Either you have your way or I do.” Draco loosened the fingers around Harry's wrist but Harry held on tighter.
“We can have turns to let each other have his way.” and Draco laughed. “Come on, it's not funny!” Harry tugged at his hand, but the corners of his eyes remained crinkled from the big grin stretching his mouth open.
“Harry,” Draco shook his head. “You are stupid!”
“Maybe,” Harry caught hold of Draco's hand once more in a tight grip. “But, can't we at least give it a try? We can go back to as we are if it doesn't work out. No hard feelings.”
“You know it doesn't work like that.” Draco said through the smile that still adorned his face in the dim light of the bar.
“We can try — ”
“Then we are staying at mine.” Draco huffed.
“What — I mean, really?” Harry's eyes were wide with surprise, mouth even wider with the grin stretching at his lips.
“Yes, but I won't be having you drinking like an addict over there. I'm working on a thesis paper, and I need to concentrate on it.”
“What thesis paper?”
“I am planning on getting the ministry affiliation. It comes in handy for the international calls. They rely more on government approved people.” Draco rolled his eyes.
“Bloody hell, that's a lot of work!” Harry laughed with his mouth covered with his fist.
Draco eyed the three empty glasses on the table, feeling the alcohol flowing through his brain while he let a tired yawn slip through his lips. “I know, but I want it that way.”
