The eternal ruckus of the traffic passed the couple as white noise in the denseness of their careless conversations that had them wheezing on the street like a pair of kettles that had just boiled. It had been like that for a while now. Although, at first they would be at each other's throats for no apparent reasons, mostly due to Harry's way of giggling while Draco was ready to burst a vein from how the brunette drove him up the wall all the time with his snarky comments from time to time. But even Draco couldn't help but get used to all the pokes and jabs at him when all he meant was to ease his stress from the hospital that piled up on his shoulder from all the calls that he had to take care in a day. But it was easier that way than to let Harry just be worried about what was up with his two best friends that had just disappeared from the face of London with a dramatic whoosh of apparition. It hurt him all the same to not know how the couple had been all this time, but he really did not have any other way to fix it.
“Clara thought I am single, she had to have a go with her luck.” Harry stated with a smug grin of his own.
“That doesn't even make any sense. The whole department knows that you are dating me — hell, the whole world knows that. Where is this Clara of yours from, Jupiter?”
“Oh, stop being like that. It was nothing.”
“You bloody well hope it wasn't, Harry.”
“Oh, come on!” Harry laughed with an ugly snort. “She isn't that good.”
“Fuck you, Harry Potter. I am not falling for that now.” Draco shoved Harry's shoulder away from his with a stupid grin. “You are an utter — ”
“Wait, I think we are in the wrong street.” Harry interrupted with a glance over his shoulder.
“No, we are not.” Draco reflected Harry's movements to make sure of his words. “I don't think so.”
“Yes, we are. Weren't we supposed to go left from the last alley?” Harry stated with another glance at his sides and the back. “I am pretty sure we walked right past the turn.”
“No, we didn't. — See, there's the grocery store. We are on the right street.”
“The grocery store is not supposed to be there. This the way to the Chinese restaurant, not the new one.”
“Really?” Draco looked peeved at the very thought, as a well formed scowl twisted his face in irritation. “Oh, what the hell! How far are we from the turn?”
“Think we have come pretty far, now.”
The face of disappointment looked Harry in the eye, all the while his hands were clutched tighter every passing second in a silent plea to not suggest to go back. “Let's apparate, then.” the blonde eventually suggested.
“Okay, fine.” Harry rolled his eyes the first thing. “You will so find out I was right all along. The food is going to be terrible.”
“Don't curse it.”
For all Harry understood from their spot, they were still on the wrong path. “Draco, this is not the turn I was talking about. We are still on a wrong street.”
“No, we are not.”
“Yes, we are. This is a private property where we are not allowed to be on —” Harry's lips thinned at the man.
“Who said that?”
“What?”
“This is a private property, correct. But this is our private property.” the familiar smile of triumph stretched Draco's lips thin, all the while Harry tried to figure out the meaning of the man with furrowed eyebrows.
