𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒆.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 1

"Alastair Honey! I'm home!." A faded Voice Alastair hears downstairs from his room. He walks downstairs to be greeted by his mother.

"Hi mom. welcome Home" Alastair says with an uneven Tone in his voice as he Helps his Mother with groceries, Alastair and his mother had lived in a lonely house in the woods and every Friday Alastair's mom would drive to the store.

"What's Wrong dear? You don't seem like your cheerful Self." Alastair's mother says looking at him. Alastair had no idea How to ask his mother about the Gate he had found Hidden behind Some leaves but when Alastair was outside he heard something from behind it which made him grow curious, So he asked.

"What's Behind that gate In our backyard?"

That question made Alastair's mom stop Doing what she was doing. She had a fazed look on her. She was pale and didn't say not a single word until she finally spoke "Alastair you are not to go near that gate nor past that gate. Do you understand?"

Alastair was wondering Why his mom acted so different when he asked the question...he figured if his mother Wouldn't tell him then he will find out himself tonight. Instead of arguing with his mom all he said was "I understand." Then he walked Upstairs back to his room.

After a few hours later Alastair Looked Out his window which faced the Gate, it was like the gate was calling to him. there was fog in the woods so he couldn't see much past it just a few trees. His mother Walked In Which startled Him to Quickly stop looking out the window.

"It's bed time dear!" Alastair's mom Says giving him a hug. "Goodnight Mom" Alastair says With a small smile, but in his head he was thinking something else, and that was To Go over the fence. Alastair's Mom Walked Down the hall way to her room and Alastair decided To Go at midnight cause he was sure his mother Would be Dead asleep by then.

~Time Skip~

Alastair Watched the clock strike midnight. Before anything else he went to go make sure his mother was fast asleep. Then he went back to his room to get Some things he picked up His brown crossbody bag, his journal, and a small dagger Knife. And he slowly walked down the stairs Not wanting to wake up his mother. He finally go to the door and opened it feeling the fresh Outside breeze it was dark and The silence was so loud.

He walked Outside and started walking towards the gate. He thought to himself "am I really gonna do this?.." he did hesitate a lot but he arrived at the front of the gate. He knew that he would have to climb it somehow cause there was a huge lock on it. While staring at the gate he heard a faded Growl From the other side of it. "What the hell was that..." he thought to himself. He didn't want to waste anymore time so he saw some vines and started to climb the wall.

He climbed to the very top of the gate looking out into the forest with fog. He looked Back At his house but he's gone so far and he can't stop now so he jumped off the fence into the forest.
