I couldn't sleep as much as I wanted to since I was so anxious for my testing in the morning. I was awake way earlier than I had to be and watched the skies outside grow lighter.

I got out of my bed at six-thirty to get dressed in the required uniform and left the Gryffindor Common Room quietly, trying not to wake anyone up since they didn't have classes for another three hours.

I was glad that I had the time to spare to find the Great Hall.

The castle was enormous, I didn't think I would ever get used to it.

It was nearing 7AM when I was finally facing the same doors I went through last night for my Sorting.

Once entering the Great Hall, I was just starting to admire the morning sky through the enchanted ceiling when I froze in my step, realizing I wasn't alone.

There were five Professors standing behind the staff table at the far end of the room.

I spotted Professor Lupin and Professor McGonagall amongst the group as I approached.

I didn't recognize the other three.

"Oh, good. She's on time," drawled one of the Professors that I didn't know, who had a big hooked nose and a curtain of greasy, black hair that went down to his shoulders.

He seemed like he didn't want to be there at all.

"Good Morning, Ms. (Y/L/N). You will be going down the table and finishing the task that each Professor has set up for you. Do try to keep it moving quickly since we all have classes that begin at nine. You will commence with Professor Flitwick." Professor McGonagall motioned to the other end of the table, where an older, kind-looking dwarf stood on top of a pile of books with a wand clutched in his hand.

"Thank you, Professor." I bowed at Professor McGonagall and walked up to the table to approach Professor Flitwick, and greeted him.

"Welcome, Ms. (Y/L/N), it is lovely to meet you. I am Professor Flitwick, I will be teaching you your Charms lessons. Your testing starts with me today, do you have your wand ready?"

I pulled out my wand from the inside pocket of my robe and presented it to him.

I haven't used it apart from opening the archway to Diagon Alley, so I was nervous that I was going to fuck up and cast a spell incorrectly. Or even worse, that no magic would occur at all since I've been hiding all of my capabilities since I was younger.

"Excellent. Now, read over this list. Memorize a few and do as many as you can! Keep in mind I don't expect you to complete them all! This is just to get an idea of where you're at with Charms. You have five minutes!" The Professor squeaked as he handed me over a list of charms, their pronunciation, their uses, and little drawings of wand movements.

I glanced over nervously at the other Professors who were all very much paying attention to me.

After reading down the list twice, I gulped and handed the list back to Professor Flitwick.

"I'm ready," I announced and I began.

I looked around frantically for an object to cast spells on and hurried to the table to grab one of the bowls that were set up for breakfast, which would be served in an hour.

Without much thought, I let the ceramic bowl fall onto the stone floor, shattering it into millions of tiny pieces.

This action took Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick by surprise, as they both did a little jump of shock.

"Reparo." I muttered, and to my alleviation, the little fragments lifted up in the air and the bowl was as good as new. I grinned up at the Charms professor, who was hurriedly marking something down on a piece of parchment.
