Two Sides of the Tide

The Seven Deadly Sins and their allies stood in awe as Meliodas flew away with their enemies, the Ten Commandments. It was a shock just to learn what Meliodas and Elizabeth had done in the Holy War, but for Meliodas to go back to the Ten Commandments was just too much.

"We should've seen this coming. Meliodas will always be a demon, it was only a matter of time until he went back to his kinsmen." King scoffed.

"King what the hell! How can you say something like that about Meliodas?! The Commandments probably placed a spell on him." Hawk said as he became a puddle of snot and tears.

"They never placed a spell on him. The Commandments will always view Meliodas as their Commander, regardless of what the Demon Lord thinks or has decreed. You heard Zeldris, he may be only one Commandment, but him saying that Lady Elizabeth is a vixen that wronged Meliodas is the belief held by all of the Commandments." Merlin sighed as she knew more than what the others knew. 'Once the Commandments secured Meliodas as their commander, they will stop at nothing to kill Elizabeth and set things back to the state of the world as it was 3,000 years ago.'

"Well, I don't give a damn. We need to save Sir Meliodas from the Commandments before it's too late!" Jericho exclaimed.

"Lord Meliodas made his choice to betray us. I don't believe that the Commandments forced him to go. Didn't you see that look on Meliodas's face right before he left? It was one of contradiction, family, and..." Arthur started, though he cut off before he said the rest.

"And what? Just say it." Ban scowled. He was fuming that King would even incite Meliodas would betray them on a whim.

"And... one of satisfaction. I mean, why wouldn't he be satisfied? Lord Meliodas was finally 'fixing' what he thought he did wrong 3,000 years ago."

Merlin had a face of sympathy after Arthur finished.

"What's with the look Merlin? You look like Arthur just said he was dying or somethin'... Or are you holding out on us?" Ban scolded.

"You are correct Ban, I am withholding information regarding the captain's affairs. Would you like me to elaborate on them?" Everyone, barring the Sins, looked shocked that Merlin would say such a thing.

"Sir Ban wouldn't be asking if he didn't want to know Lady Merlin" Nanashi stated, he was keeping his eye on the place where the Commandments took off from.

"Alright then, the information I have is as follows; If we don't bring the captain back, he will become the Demon Lord. Meliodas will lead the Demonic forces in conquering Britannia ruthlessly just as he did in the past. There is a good chance that if we don't act fast, we'll never see him again unless it is on the battlefield. That is all I have." Merlin said.

"So that's that. Let's go save the captain!" Diane exclaimed.

"Yeah!" They all yelled in unison.

"This is our base for the time being." Zeldris pointed to a large demonic purple-looking tree as they all went to relax on the tree. "Follow me, brother."

Meliodas nodded as they walked to a cavern that was lined with crystals.

"What'd you want to talk about Zel?" Meliodas asked.

"What happened twelve years ago... when the Vampire Clan was resurrected?" Zeldris's demon mark had retracted and disappeared, showing Zeldris's true eyes. He was getting nervous, which Meliodas picked up on and retracted his own demon mark.

"The Vampires attacked a human country called Edinburgh. The Seven Deadly Sins and I were sent to eradicate them, as Liones and Edinburgh were allies." Zeldris's eyes widened in fear, as his head was spinning with the possibilities. "We slew all of the Vampires that had taken over Edinburgh."

Tears were forming in Zeldris's eyes, "Gelda was one of them wasn't she, and if so, which sin killed her?"

Zeldris was breaking down, Meliodas looked at him put his hand on his head, and smiled at him.

"Gelda was one of the Vampires who took over Edinburgh, though she and I met on one of the castle bridges. After I told her what happened to you and our people, she asked for me to kill her." Meliodas said softly, trying to comfort his younger brother.

"Well did you... you know... kill her?"

"No, I know how much she means to you. Instead of killing her, I sealed her away once more. If you want, I'll unseal her in two days." Meliodas smiled sweetly.

"I would love that! When you unseal her, please let me come with you!" Zeldris's eyes lit up with relief and happiness.

"Of course you can!" Meliodas exclaimed.

The demon princes smiled at each other as they walked back to their fellow Commandments.

Meliodas and Zeldris were flying towards the ruins of Edinburgh, where the vampire Gelda was sealed away. Zeldris looked excited for once, compared to his usual cold-stoned face.

"How much longer brother?" Zeldris asked.

"Only a couple minutes more Zel." Meliodas laughed as he saw the excited look on his brother's face.

A couple more minutes pass and Meliodas and Zeldris reach the ruins of Edinburgh and the seal that Gelda resides in.

"So this is it. This seal looks almost identical to the one I placed on the Vampire clan 3,000 years ago." Zeldris said touching the surface of the seal.

"Alright Zel, stand back. I'm going to break the seal." Meliodas commanded. Zeldris nodded and stepped back a bit.

Meliodas chanted a reversal spell. The seal broke, and Gelda stepped out.

"GELDA!" Zeldris ran towards Gelda and hugged her. "GeldaImissedyousomuchI'msosososososorryaboutsealingyouaway3,000yearsagoIloveyouIloveyouIloveyousofuckingmuch!"

Gelda looked at Zeldris and placed her hand on his cheek. "I missed you too Zeldris, I love you too. You don't have to apologize about what you did 3,000 years ago, I know you only did it because you had no other choice."

They kissed each other. Zeldris looked at Meliodas and gave a look that said 'Thank you.'
