Drowning in Fire

The sounds of the waves crashing against the castle wall slowly woke me up

I could feel the movements of the water as it swayed forwards building up steed until it crashed against the castle walls

I squinted as my eyes slowly began to open

Light streamed through the huge window panes

My entire body ached

I let out a groan as I tried to sit up

I looked down to notice that my clothes were changed into loose pieces of linen similar to the ones I wear at home

A loose-fitting pair of black pants and a loose white shirt

I could see bandages peeking from underneath my shirt

I reached down to touch them but the pain radiates from my side

Then a flood of memories from last night flooded my brain

The soldiers

The nurses

The prince

The music

"Nova" my voice was weak

My throat felt course as I spoke

I tried to move out of bed but a voice from the other side of the room caught my attention

He wore a tight-fitting black shirt and pants

His hair was pulled back in a ponytail

He stood tall watching me intently from the other side of the room

" The prince let her rest and recover with Leo his dragon. They are getting along just fine" his voice felt dark but very welcoming

Knowing that the prince placed Nova in a safe place caused some of my nerves to go down

He took a step closer

I felt my hand searching for a weapon

"There's nothing in this room that you can use to attack me again Ms. Luna"

Then it clicked

He was the man in the room last night with the nurses

His head was still bandaged

" Thank you for tending to the wounds that you gave me last night" he stood by the edge of the bed now analyzing my every movement

I felt squirmish under his gaze

He was no doubt an attractive man

His strong build and his beautiful green eyes

His dark black had slight curls

You could notice it from looking at his hair that was pulled back

" I'm sorry about last night sir I didn't mean to hurt you," I said with feelings of guilt from last night's encounter

I did leave him knocked out and stole his pants

" But you did mean to hurt me. You were frightened and you had to get your dragons. Nova is it" he said this with a smile on his lips

He slowly walked over to my side of the bed

"I changed your clothes last night and bandaged some of your open wounds you know you are very lucky that you survived," he said in almost a whisper
